Virtue Farm K'Gari/Fraser Is view

5 sites · RVs33 acres · Booral, QLD
Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island). It includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life, koalas, echidnas, kangaroos, other animals and is great for walking. There is no water, power or internet provided. You must have your own toilet to stay here and be able to remove all grey water. Our regional council does not allow us to host swag/tent campers. Tents and swags may be permitted if accompanied by an RV or caravan, please ask us first. Virtue Farm is a council approved self-contained recreational vehicle ground. Arrival after dark is by prior arrangement only. We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. Our land is registered with Land for Wildlife. We would love to share our developing farm with you while you stay. We are building a productive, diverse permaculture farm incorporating a market garden, food forest and small volume egg production. Our mission is to share sustainable production and lifestyle through education, tourism, partnerships and homestays. We operate all aspects of our business based on good moral ethics, honesty, and sustainability. Virtue Farm is 10 km from the barge to K'Gari (Fraser Island) and only 10 minutes drive to Hervey Bay's beautiful beaches, the Water Park, Urangan Pier, restaurants, shops and cafes. From your chosen campsite, on our farm block, you will have sensational views to K'Gari (Fraser Island) whilst being surrounded by 27 acres of bushland that is reserved for nature and registered with Land for Wildlife. Expect to see amazing colours at sunrise and sunset. Enjoy the many birds and animals that you will see as you spend time exploring our bush and farm. There's the added bonus of a range of fresh, organically grown produce to be harvested daily at a small extra cost. You will love the peace and quiet of our block and the huge array of wildlife that choose to call our place home. To preserve this tranquility, pets and rowdy groups are not suited to this camp site. You are welcome to camp in family and friendship groups. If camping in a group you can choose how closely to camp near each other. If not with a group you must be at least 20m away from other campers to respect their privacy. The camping area is a slightly sloping grassed paddock - you will find rocks and uneven ground. All vehicles must be completely self-contained taking all water and waste off site. We have a Containers for Change collection point (recycling bottles and cans) and other bins to collect recyclable materials and will happily accept compostable waste. Gumtree Dam Highlands

7 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Abington, QLD
Camp at our farm retreat with us and our Scottish Highland Coos. We are 5 minutes out of Childers, Queensland. You will have plenty of room to yourself, there is potable water available and porta loos. We have a shower facility now too, which is made out of a horse float just to keep my hubby busy haha and to have something a little different. Now my new animals will have to be transported home on the back seat of my car 🤣 The Scottish folk pronounce it Heilen Coos... so that's how we say it, they might be a little shy, to start with but they wander around freely and will love to be hand fed sweet potatoes by you and brushed by Chrissy. Everyone will enjoy seeing these cuties. Feed times atm are around 8am and 4pm. We've just had a lovely, very patient camper, (27/4/24) Jo hand feed almost 3-month-old Lucy Moo for the very first time 😁 You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley who is new mum to Lucy Moo born 5th of February and Willow, mum to Ferdinand (Ferdi) born earlier this year on the 3rd of January, so two beautiful calves to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 We have 2 dogs Jesse a blue heeler and Cane our Maremma, who are both very friendly. The Maremma dog is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog he does bark a little at night if there is a fox or something around that might hurt our animals. Cane has been very successful at keeping all our pets safe. Guest's have told us they have slept through the night no troubles, in saying that sometimes he doesn't need to bark at all. If anyone thinks the barking might be an issue this probably isn't the place for you. We now have Percy the peacock 🦚 who randomly Honks! Our Neighbours have fish farms, so you will hear the odd shot gun go off at times, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. We are very easy to get along with but excessive noise or bad behaviour will not be tolerated. Feel free to put on music and have a few drinks by the camp fire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed. Thanks for your understanding. Relax with a cuppa, unwind with a book or go for a short bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature here at our farm. There are wonderful cafes and bakeries in Childers, an IGA and Woolworths. We are near Bingera National park, Cordalba state forest with an hour to some top snorkelling spots, also Drive passed acres of sugarcane and macadamia fields we are 45 minutes from Hervey Bay and 40 minutes the other way to Bundaburg. We love being so close to the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. We look forward to meeting you. Duane and Chrissy
