Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Multiple natural springs exist on the property and a few small spring-fed waterholes are scattered down the cascading hills. Friendly ducks, geese, fish, horses and an abundance of native wildlife live here. This location is home to several endangered species due to being one of the last isolated pockets of rainforest in the area.
Sites are part of The Bush Clinic where we specialise in designing and making natural creams, soaps, teas, dodorants and other products as well as running regular Meditation courses and topics such as Energy, Frequency, Grounding and Advanced Organic Growth techniques for those wanting to join in are formally available during your stay.
We are new to HipCamp so have limited facilities at present, but they are in progress and we have loads of space per site, comfortable, and lots to offer for those wanting to reconnect with Nature. If you know what ley-lines are - this is the right place to visit ;-)
PS if you are towing a van or camper pls remember to engage 4wd at the front gravel gate (low range 2nd is best). This helps avoid chewing the road up...

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses and goats. We have goat food for purchase on site. 🐐
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping lower sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites are suitable for 2WDs and some sites are accessible to caravans.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by 4WD and require you to BYO sealed, chemical camping TOILET and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites however NO caravans.
🐾 Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers.
Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.

Friends love our campsites for catch ups, the bird watching, small historical or nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes in the Albert River.
Other groups use Kerry Valley Secret as a base camp for hiking adventures in the wilderness end of Lamington National Park.
Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River.
Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (firewood provided).
Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring our walking tracks through the forest.
All campsites have basic toilet facilities (a portaloo) and firepit (with a free bag of kindling provided). Stockyard Creek Campsite also includes a picnic table.
Exclusivity is a feature of all our campsite and for that reason we only take a flat rate booking. Once you have booked no one else will be able to camp at the site, it is all yours.

The rainforest Treehouse is situated in a rainforest pocket of the Mount Warning Caldera, completely surrounded by lush and vibrant nature and sheltered from the outside world, while being just 2 minutes away from us and the comfy road that will take you to an amazing swimming hole, cafés and the nearby town.

1 night at RESET Tallebudgera Valley
This place was absolutely stunning, easy to find with the hosts instructions. Had some nice food at the man on the bike. Hosts were quick to respond to any problems we had. They gave us some nice goodies which we used to make a snack board to eat in the bath. Having a nice little kitchen was a bonus. Though do note that the batthroom didn't have a door on it, so make sure we are only going with someone you are close too 🫣🤣. We even were able to call some horses over in the morning for some pats. We felt like we are truly away from the rest of the world but still with the creature comforts. Such a unique experience! Would 100% recommend.

This is a fantastic place for camping and light hiking. The longer you stay, the more there is to explore. There are also many friendly animals, making the experience even more special.
The hosts, Richard and Miranda, along with their children, were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The horses at the top of the property were absolutely beautiful, and the surrounding scenery was breathtaking.
This was our very first camping trip in Australia after traveling from Korea, and thanks to this place, it became a truly unforgettable memory. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Australian camping experience!

Great property with superb views and easy access. 5 stars. We booked in July and it’s probably best over the cooler months as there are no trees throughout the direct camping area to sit under for shade if the sun is out and the weather is hot.

We had fantastic weekend here and can't recommend it highly enough. The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and feels like a little slice of paradise.
We spent our days listening to the creek flowing by, birds in the trees, and our evenings around the campfire with good food, a glass of wine (or three!), great music and even better company. It's the perfect place to switch off, relax and enjoy nature.
If you're looking for a quiet, private campsite close to Canungra, this is hard to beat. We'll definitely be back. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful property!

Great amount of green spaces and plenty of room on sites.
Enjoyed hike up to the top fence line for amazing views. Richard and Miranda are great approachable hosts.
Definitely worth the trip to Stonethrow - goi g back soon for sure.

Such a beautiful site! We made friends with the eels and turtles at lower Platypus. Sites are separated enough that it feels like no one else is around besides the wallabies and kookaburras. LOOOVED the laughing donkey in the distance, made us all laugh. Can’t wait to come back in summer to try out the swimming hole

So far this is my favourite site I have stayed at on hicamp although a little expensive for just two people this site is huge and if splitting between a group there is room for everyone!!
