Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

Sunsets are the feature here with incredible views across to the hinterland. Watch Kangaroos, dolphins, eagles, pelicans and a ton of fish! We also have horses should you be interested in some 'equine experiences' (ground work only). You will forever remember your stay at River and Sky Cottage!

The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike.
The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else.
Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground.
Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows…

Shark Creek Retreat is an ongoing conservation project, where I call myself the caretaker of these beautiful wetlands. I have dedicated 77 acres of it as a wildlife sanctuary, it is a member of the Wildlife Land Trust and has joined the Land for Wildlife environmental community. To date there is a property bird list worthy of a small National Park for all you keen birders out there. To date I have been busy regenerating previously cleared land from farming and the 2019 bush fire with native plants local to this area in the 100's.
My aim is to surround most of the property in wildlife friendly fencing, regenerate the flora and create a fauna corridor as a wildlife safety zone from the wetlands to the road and to create a tranquil little space for nature appreciative people to stop and a take a rest.

They must be controlled as sheep are nearby and we have an abundance of wildlife.
We have a slackline, a rope swing and badmitten for anyone looking to include more play in their stay!

Shark Creek Retreat is an ongoing conservation project, where I call myself the caretaker of these beautiful wetlands. I have dedicated 77 acres of it as a wildlife sanctuary, it is a member of the Wildlife Land Trust and has joined the Land for Wildlife environmental community. To date there is a property bird list worthy of a small National Park for all you keen birders out there. We have a slackline, a rope swing and badmitten for anyone looking to include more play in their stay!

The North East facing sites overlooking the river and rocky cliffs opposite, the view is really quite serene. There is easy river access, ideal for launching kayaks or heading in for a dip.
All campers need to be equipped with their own camp toilet, and we kindly ask they take all waste when they leave.
We offer several camping sites on the riverside site, but also we offer the option for larger groups to book the entire riverside site out exclusively. Please refer to the different site options.

Phil is a legend and has such a stunning space to camp. A beautiful green field with plenty of trees for shade and a beautiful river nearby to go for a dip. We loved our stay and highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

A beautiful, spacious, tree-lined property that’s very well maintained.
It’s not too far from the coast, yet it feels like you’re miles away from everything — peaceful and secluded in the best way.
The owner came down to say g’day and was very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway where you’re not camping on top of other campers.

We had a relaxing 2 nights at the Skippy Campsite on Micalo Island. Our hosts were lovely and also very knowledgeable about the area. The birdlife here is incredible, the kangaroos are in abundance and are well fed (they’re as big as Red Kangaroos - but very placid and avoid contact). Our dogs loved swimming in the water channels. There’s plenty of shade if required and the area is generally flat.

We loved our time here at Scott's place. Right on the banks of the Clarence River. It was great being amongst the kangaroos and the 2 horses....especially the cheeky poppy who was super friendly.
We saw dolphins twice coming up river and and a few Eagles hanging around.
Thanks for a great place to stay.

An absolutely beautiful and peaceful spot with amazing views. My combination (Truck & Van) are over 16m long and Site #4 allowed me to drive thru with ease. I only disconnected to allow for the occasional visit to Yamba's Coffee Shops, the Pub and a swim at those gorgeous beaches. Riverside Rest has only four very well maintained sites with enough distance between sites to ensure neighbours aren’t an issue. A credit to Glen & Zoe. Thanks guys for allowing me to stay..

We loved the complete privacy. Cameron met us and showed us around and then left us alone. The amenities were clean and there was even a fridge and a microwave for our benefit. We world definitely stay again.

Beautiful location, gorgeous property, good signage. We were in camp two which we would definitely choose again with a tree for shade. Dolphins were in the river. Cows and ducks on the property. Fire pits provided with wood available at a very reasonable price and ice too. Just lovely!

Stunning, comfortable and convenient. The perfect camping spot that has it all. Gorgeous views, pet friendly, potable water and a flush toilet.
We launched our boat with ease and spent a quiet couple of days fishing in the boat and from the riverbank in the evenings. Abundance of fish, bream, flathead and catfish.
James was a fantastic host who came and greeted us and let us know how to use the amenities. We will definitely be back, cannot recommend this place enough!

Glenn & Zoe’s Riverside Rest is the perfect property to spend quality time along side the pristine Clarence River, it’s closeness to Yamba made it ideal for exploring in and around the area as well, accessing the property was easy with clear directions allowing for trouble free navigation to the 4 campsites, also well signed, our site 4 was very clean & level, being manicured to a very high standard, Zoe checked in with us making sure everything was in order also offering valuable local knowledge of the area, we certainly recommend Riverside Rest & will be back in the future,

Chris welcomed my husband and me so warmly. He is incredibly friendly, kind, and went above and beyond to explain everything about the property with great care and attention. We felt very comfortable and well looked after from the moment we arrived.
