I loved teardrop camping at Surfside Cudmirrah Beach. The facility was very well maintained. The showers had strong water pressure and hot water. The toilets were clean. The powered site P5 was nice and spacious. The beach is stunning and pretty much secluded this time if year. I do wish I could bring my own firepit and not pay $10 a night, that said, not a deal-breaker. Would easily return annually.

Easy access, all level had 22ft caravan in there with Plenty of space. Slight road noise from Hume hwy. you can find firewood in nearby bushes, chickens for kids to see. A little pricey but would stay again.

Very peaceful. Yes you can hear the highway traffic all hours but it’s not significant enough to worry you. Lovely hosts. The only negative is the lack of signage. I think the sites should be numbered or named and allocated. The pathways through the bush to the river should also be sign posted, not easy to navigate, i can see visitors getting lost . Would I come back? Definitely

What a great spot to take it easy, Dana was the best with a great welcome. What a wonderful place to camp. Walk to the River it does takes a little effort to get down there but worth it, and not far from Berrima to walk around the town and have lunch at the pub. Lots of fire wood you just have to look for it. Thanks again, we stayed 9 nights lots of star to see while sitting around a fire. We will be back as not for from Sydney.

We loved Lisa’s farm. It’s a lovely big flat area with great fire pit and small covered shed that you can use. There is a porta a loo on site. It is peaceful with birds wallabies and horses around, walks into the bush and a short drive into Sussex inlet, lakes and Cudmirrah. We explored the area and found lots of beaches good surf and coffee too! Would definitely return. Lisa and her husband were very helpful and kind.

We had a fabulous magical 3 night stay at Magali's beautiful camp-site. The idea of a private outdoor bath under the stars got us there but we were very pleasantly surprised with all the other wonderful extras. The bathroom facilities would rival any B&B or motel. So good to have a hot shower after a day at the beach. The cavinous rustic common area kitchen has a full size fridge freezer, a coffee machine with coffee supplied, microwave, kettle with tea supplied, toaster, sandwich press and a pantry filled with crockery, utensils etc. In fact you could arrive with just a tent & food and everything else you would ever need is there. Lots of cast iron for cooking over there big fire pit. The private camping area is large, lush and surrounded by beautiful bush and birdlife. Local possums also visit the Communal shed. It was great as well to have a place where our dogs were welcomed and they had so much fun playing with Magali's Bazil. We will certainly be returning and would recommend it to any one looking for a quieter more private stay but still so close to all the wonderful places Jervis Bay has to offer. A truly special and healing space and Magali was so kind, helpful and generous. Thank you, Magali, so much for making our birthday celebration so special. 😊 x

What an amazing place with a wonderful host. It’s a private grass area with trees that surround it. The barroom is a short walk away and has everything you need. Highlight for me was the outdoor bathtub and Magali who just makes you feel so welcomed. If you get surprised by bad weather there is a lovely shed to find cover.

I absolutely loved my stay at Magali’s camp site. She was so so lovely and accomodating. Has everything there you need, a wonderful camp kitchen and great bathroom and toilet! It was so peaceful and the location was perfect for my day trips into local surrounding towns. My favourite part was the bath that I chose to have in the morning whilst it drizzled rain, it was a highlight of my East NSW trip. I can’t wait to come back and visit Magali and Basil (her beautiful dog) thank you!!! :) :) xxx

We absolutely loved staying at Magali's place. The caravan was very comfortable and ample, and had everything we needed. The location is beautiful and peaceful, ideal for those that love nature and only 10 minutes drive from Huskisson! Magali is the best host ever, she was supper attentive and reliable, and even helped us with a flat tyre! Basil the dog is a great host as well, and will guard you against possums with diligence! The Hermitage is an untouched heavily-wooded property, nestled on the banks of the Abercrombie River. The campsites are shared with kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, deer, and of course turtles and fish in the river. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure walk including the Blue Mountains National Park to the south of the river. The Abercrombie River is known for gold and gemstones, so if you're into panning, there's some good spots along the river. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting, please check local information before lighting) within the designated areas. Please only place combustible items in the fire. Bottles, cans, wipes etc do not burn and any items remaining in the fire may incur a clean up fee. Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Using nearby rocks to surround your fire is not advisable. Despite their smooth appearance, they may harbour significant moisture and can be highly explosive when heated in a fire pit or campfire. River rock is also usually pretty easy to obtain, so it seems like a quick and easy solution. However, it has a high tendency to explode, so we suggest you avoid it at all costs. Pets are welcome for a one-off fee per animal. Please ensure you remove all trash and evidence of your stay when you depart. If you arrive and find litter, we would personally appreciate it if you could find room for it in your rubbish collection. Please take photos of your arrival if you find something and forward it on to us so we can follow up. We are in the early stages of our Hipcamp journey and there are plans to make for a much more enjoyable experience. All monies will be re-invested into facilities. There is no mobile reception at this location. There are no toilets at this location (yet). Please come prepared. A port-a-loo is ideal, or if you are happy with a bush toilet, please bring a shovel to dig a hole or to cover and conceal your deposits. We live on property and are happy to share and let people enjoy our beautiful location. The morning birdsong and evening are restorative. The sunrises and sunsets amazing. Far enough away to unwind and relax, close enough to get a caffeine fix if needed! Coming into summer camp fires are subject to weather conditions and fire warnings. Campers must be self-contained. Off grid campers, 4wd vehicles with pop ups or tents on ground and RVs can be accommodated. We have a leave only footprints philosophy. Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.
