Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

100 acres of secluded paradise with a kilometer of free flowing pebbled creek. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife. Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. On the property you may see wombats, kangaroos, the odd fox, and many birds. An easy and 10kms from the Hume Hwy there are numerous camp sites, one by the oak grove, a couple by the dam and with lovely rural vista. Kids stay free and are not included in the site capacity. Sites are easy access with a clear track. All sites are dispersed so you can choose where you stay. We live on property and are happy to share and let people enjoy our beautiful location. The morning birdsong and evening frog song is a restorative. The sunrises and sunsets amazing, and the stars beautiful. Far enough away to unwind and relax, close enough to get a caffeine fix if needed! Close to charming village of Bundanoon, Berrima, local wineries and good food outlets. Coming into winter camp fires are a must, generally best to BYO wood. Campers must be self-contained. We have a leave only footprints philosophy. All rubbish and waste (human, animal & general) must be taken off property. We have had any and all types of campers, from swags to RVs and everything in between, all can be accommodated. We do not accommodate large groups as our focus is peace, relaxation and family friendly. The property is home to an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, native birds and reptiles. There are also a lot of wombats so stay on the track and look for burrows. There are many activities to enjoy including kayaking, fishing, swimming, bush walking, bird watching and 15kms of mountain bike trails. We are pet friendly, please remember to have your pets protected against ticks. You will need to be self-contained with own camping toilet, shower and water. Please DO NOT dig toilet hole, even though you leave it covered, it doesn't take long for the foxes to dig it up and leave a real mess!! Campfires permitted in designated areas. There is mobile reception. No shooting, archery or hunting. No trail bikes. Do not damage trees, there is plenty of firewood on the ground. Don't forget your mozzie repellent. A limited number of sites are 2WD/AWD accessible via gravel or dirt road, but most sites require a capable 4WD particularly if you are towing a camper. All sites have lovely views. Campers are required to be self sufficient as there are no toilet or shower facilities, and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Fill your days swimming in the creek, exploring the property on foot, on mountain-bike, set up yabbie traps in the dams, or sit back and relax listening to the abundant birdlife that calls Forestvale home and keep your binoculars and camera handy for the visiting wildlife including wombats and kangaroos. Forestvale Farm is a working farm and you are welcome to view whatever activities are happening during your visit, or head out beyond the farm gate to visit the Taralga Zoo, stock up on fresh organic produce grown by our neighbours, dine on hearty pub dinners in town, or fish for trout on the Abercrombie River just up the road. Wombeyan Caves has recently reopened just 20 minutes drive away and is worth the visit. Take your swimmers in summer. Campfires are permitted, subject to prevailing bushfire risk conditions. They must be kept contained and at a reasonable size. We encourage you to bring some firewood, or you can purchase a pile of wood to be ready on your arrival (see Extras). Pets are welcome but must be kept restrained at all times to protect stock and wildlife. Please note mobile reception is limited in the Wiarborough Valley. Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Dharawal Camp offers all the benefits of glamping. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in your tent/vehicle, then hop out of bed and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of the cabin with access to a kitchen area supplying rainwater. With the secluded bush surroundings and the quiet, it's hard to believe you're only an hour away from Sydney. You might even see a Koala There is strictly no accomodation in the Cabin. The camp features a camping toilet and bathing facilities, gas bbq, a kitchen washing area, NO FRIDGE, a recreation space and dining table when the weather is bad. All you need to do is roll out your swag. Campers are encouraged to take their rubbish with them. There is access to power for campervans/caravans. Warm your toes at the outdoor fireplace whilst you chat with friends. (Please bring own firewood). You will be a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Dharawal National Park which has wonderful swimming holes and bush walks. The site is 15 minutes drive from Campbelltown, which offers all amenities of a large metropolitan city.

If your heart beats to the vibrant drum of the Southern Highlands but you want the space and freedom of camping on a great river, then Wings of the Carribee is for you. Two campsites share 20 Acres of cottonwood trees on the Wingecarribee river. They are 250m apart and both on the riverfront giving you the seclusion you need while allowing you access to all that the Highlands have to offer. Bring your fishing rod and yabbie net, sit at the large picnic table, rent a kayak and go for a paddle, come say hello to the miniature Hereford cattle and enjoy the half drum fire pit while watching the cows grazing across the river. Dogs are welcome as long as they don't chase the cows. Of course you will be tempted to explore the area. Wings sits directly between Bowral and Moss Vale (both are less than 5km away) and is 14 km from historic Berrima so you can leave the camper and head into town to enjoy the old world charm of the area. The Southern Highlands is ideal if you’re wanting to escape Sydney (100km) or Canberra (160km) without lengthy travel. Discover all that the area has to offer including a host of idyllic country towns, fascinating shops and regular country events. With it’s abundant wineries, award-winning restaurants, culinary delights, and natural splendor, it’s the place to unplug, find yourself and indulge in some of life’s finest pleasures. If the birds and the bees are your thing then you are also in for a rare treat. We have eastern greys, rabbits, the odd fox and a host of birdlife (eyes open for the resident wedgetail pair, pelicans, black swans etc.), but whatever you seek from your break, we look forward to hosting you. Watch the amazing night sky while cooking dinner on a supplied open fire. An abundance of wildlife with the bush home to wombats, kangaroos, deer and a variety of birds. Walk the many natural tracks on the property, have a hit of golf, wet a line in one of the dams or just sit and enjoy the view. 12 minutes to the centre of Goulburn and 20 minutes from the spectacular Bungonia Gorge. Minutes off the highway when travelling the Hume so a great one night stop or you could make it a base for a longer stay and do some sightseeing.

We stayed at Bruce's property on the June long weekend. Bruce greeted us on arrival and guided us to our site. Lovely location, peaceful and with its own fire pit. The days were sunny and nights cold, sitting around the firepit was a perfect way to relax and unwind. Would definitely recommend this property, close enough to Sydney but far enough away. We will definitely be back.

Tent camping here was nice, it’s ideal for people on their first camp as it’s not as far away from everything. Also have good signal still. Only thing to point out, during our stay there were constant tree cutting noises from morning till before dinner. It wasn’t really as “relaxing” due to the constant noise from the area. Not sure if the owners are cutting trees or neighbours.

Nice spacious sites, great for dogs. Unfortunately first night was disturbed by other noisy campers until I asked them to wind up at 1AM. Otherwise good, enjoyed seeing the kangaroos morning and evening. Would definitely stay again.
