100 acres of secluded paradise with a kilometer of free flowing pebbled creek. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife. Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. You are a 40 minute drive from the sea (try the Shoalhaven 100 beach challenge https://www.shoalhaven.com/100-beach-challenge/ ) and just 15km from the historical town of Kangaroo Valley with its myriad of water activities, golf, wine estates, and quaint shopping. ttps://visitkangaroovalley.com.au/see-and-do/

A large campsite (700 square meters) right up against the bubbling Budgong Creek (keep your eyes open for the platypus), surrounded by trees and with as much firewood as you can gather. The real star of the show is the creek, with the splashing of the water making the perfect backdrop to your break away. The more adventurous should seek out the swimming holes and bring a mask to see the Bass and other fish underwater. A half-drum BBQ with rustic log seating makes for the perfect evening under the stars. Breakfast at the picnic table overlooking the creek, a billabong with birdlife, and a short walk to the kid's playground, functional tennis court (with a basketball hoop), and the farm shed (with fresh water and free high speed wifi). Enjoy the freedom of 100 acres of grassy open space to yourself while camping amongst the trees. (The closest campsite to you is 200 meters away with ample forests in between giving all the space and privacy you could want) This site is easily accessible by 2wd vehicles unless its been raining heavily or you are towing something heavy (well surfaced but untarred roads into a valley). This large campsite (600 square meters) really is the gem of the Wombat Hollow experience. Nestled on a 90 degree bend of the Budgong Creek (keep your eyes open for the platypus), surrounded by trees and with as much firewood as you can gather (feel free to bring an electric chainsaw), your day and evening walks are guaranteed to give you sightings of a host of local animals including wallabies, eastern greys and the cute and plentiful wombats. The real stars of the show are the wood fired hot-tub and the creek, with the burbling of the water over the nearby pebbles making the perfect backdrop to your break away. The more adventurous should seek out the 2 very close swimming holes and bring a mask to see the Bass and other fish underwater. A half-drum BBQ makes for the perfect evening under the stars followed by breakfast at the picnic table overlooking the creek. For the kids its a short walk to the playground and trampoline, functional tennis court (with a basketball hoop), and for adults to stay connected the farm shed has free high speed WIFI. The shed also has treated creek water water but this site has a tap with creek water to fill up the hot tub / do your dishes etc. The closest campsite is 160m away from you with ample trees in between giving all the space and privacy you could want on the 100 acres. This site has a steep causeway and some tree roots to get over. I've seen a Toyota Camry make it to the site but if its raining or you are towing something heavy, you would need a 4x4. This is not a good site for long or low slung caravans. Note: You must have your own toilet facilities. This massive campsite is right up against the bubbling Budgong Creek (keep your eyes open for the platypus). The sound of the water washing over the pebbles is the gem of the Dad's Camp experience. Surrounded by trees and in its own 7 acre paddock, with as much firewood as you can gather, your day and evening walks are guaranteed to give you sightings of a host of local animals including the cute and plentiful wombats. Chatting around the half drum fire on raised logs as the evening stars appear makes for the perfect ending to a day spent in your own private shallow swimming area at this campsite. (bring a mask to see the Bass and other fish underwater at the swimming holes). For the kids its a medium walk to the playground and trampoline, functional tennis court, and for adults to stay connected the farm shed has free high speed WIFI (and potable water). The campsites are all very far apart with the closest site being 200 meters away and ample trees in between giving all the space and privacy you could want on the 100 acres. This site is easily accessible by 2wd vehicles unless there has been a lot of rain (untarred but well surfaced road into a valley) or you are towing a very heavy trailer. Note: You must have your own toilet facilities. Please confirm when you book that you are self sufficient in this regard so I can process your booking quicker.

Opening for Xmas 2025, The T shaped site allows groups to camp with direct and easy access to your own waist deep swimming hole in the Budgong Creek (keep your eyes open for the platypus) . Surrounded by trees giving total privacy with as much firewood as you can gather (feel free to bring an electric chainsaw), your day and evening walks are guaranteed to give you sightings of a host of local animals including wallabies, eastern greys and the cute and plentiful wombats. The real star of the show is the creek, with the burbling of the water over the nearby pebbles making the perfect backdrop to your break away. The more adventurous should seek out the other two very close swimming holes and bring a mask to see the Bass and other fish underwater. A smaller, secluded campsite ideal for a single trailer / family with the best views on the farm set on its own 5 acre paddock. The elevated view of the surrounding escarpments and trees make the perfect backdrop to your early evening sundowners. Your water options include a short walk to the river or a private trail behind the site leading to an often flowing waterfall. Amenities are a half-drum firepit and a large picnic table. (You need to be self sufficient for a toilet). This site is only accessible by 4wd vehicles if you are towing anything as the last 160m is unsealed at 1:10 gradient. The site receives direct sunlight from late morning. On the farm the 3km of creek frontage is the star of the show (keep your eyes open for the platypus) but we also have a billabong with birdlife, a kid's playground, functional tennis court (with a basketball hoop), and the farm shed (with fresh water and high speed wifi). Enjoy the freedom of 100 acres of grassy open space while camping amongst the trees. The Crossing
We had a fabulous time away at the crossing. Nice and peaceful with nice warm fires every night. Managed the causeway both directions, just have to take a wider swing at it if towing a decent sized van. We'll be back.

We had an amazingly peaceful weekend at the Riverbend camp. It was a fun drive in with our off-road caravan. The weekend went way too quickly though - filled with cold dips in the nearby swim spot, warm bath, and nice little hike up the hill.

We loved staying at Wombat Hollow for 2 nights and will return. Very pretty property and well maintained secluded sites, but the standout reasons to return are the abundance of wildlife and the fantastic hospitality from Vallance. This is country Australia at its best.

The host is always lovely, the campsite and surrounds are well kept and wonderful scenery, plus the kids loved the playground The whole experience was relaxing yet fun. Highly recommend to anyone, plus we will be back again

Stayed at Wombat Hollow at the site called Dad’s Camp in May. Wonderfully quiet and relaxing site, nestled at the edge of a bubbling creek. Site is level and shaded throughout the day - suspect this would be an ideal cooler spot for the hotter months. Plenty of firewood on the property (fallen timber) and firepit with seating. Access was easy, although the dirt road before the property had some uneven and steep sections - we were towing a 23’ caravan. Access to potable water was a bonus for our 5 day stay. No reception available, but host provides wifi at the caretakers shed. Our dogs also had a lovely time, exploring and coming along for walks. Communication with host excellent. Highly recommend for those wanting an off-grid experience whilst being only 40 minutes from nearest town.

Fantastic spot at Riverbend Wombat Hollow. Right next to the creek with the sound of trickling water was very peaceful. Each site looked very private. Directions were easy to follow. Will be back in the future

We loved our camping experience! Dad’s place was such a beautiful location on the farm with close access to the river and a beautiful outlook from where we positioned our tents. It was quiet, and in great distance from the other campers on the farm making it feel like we were the only people there. There were lots of wombat holes over the farm, we were lucky enough to see a wombat on one of the nights, and some kangaroos on the other nights! We would highly recommend visiting wombat hollow for your next camping adventure!

Return visit to Wombat Hollow, this time we tried another couple of sites. Pecan has great views and was perfect for our sunset arrival. Flat site, with campfire drum and table carefully cut into a gentle hillside. Great for the cooler months when you need and want the sun. Second site was The Crossing, across the small causeway, in a flat grove of trees right on the river edge. The sound of water running over the stones added to the restful and peaceful space. Site was nicely shady in the morning with sun in the afternoon, but plenty of scope to find shade with the right orientation. Pups loved the wide spaces of both sites.

The kids and I had the BEST time at Wombat Hollow. Fishing, kayaking, playing in the creek, jumping on the trampoline, campfire under the stars - absolutely perfect camping experience. Vallance was a terrific host, gave us great tips to improve our experience and even gave the boys a ride on his tractor. The kids are already asking when we can go back and can we stay for longer next time. The place was so beautiful and peaceful, we loved every minute.

A returned trip to Wombat Hollow at a different campsite, did not disappoint. The Billabong campsite is perfect if you enjoy the sound of birds and a babbling brook. It was just magic. The campsite was well maintained and generous in size. Vallance has really thought out his property and campsites are far enough away from other campers so you can really soak up the beauty and peacefulness of this little slice of heaven. Definitely on our list for another return visit. Thanks for being a great host Vallance, especially with our last minute change so we could avoid the rain.

What wasn’t to love about Billabong Camp! Stunning drive in. Excellent location right next to the gorgeous creek. The property around the campsites are beautifully preserved and the spacing is enough to feel as if you are all alone on the property. The seats around the campfire were a lovely touch and the large picnic table situated overlooking the creek presented us with a stunning vista at mealtimes. It is a terrific place to stay if you enjoy nature, switching off the phone and enjoying the crackle of the fire. Without any light pollution the stars were incredible. We stayed two nights but could have easily stayed a week. Vallance was very generous with contact and the detailed information was helpful. It is so great to drive within an hour from home but feel as if we have travelled much further to a new and exciting spot. Highly recommend to anyone after a reset from the hustle and bustle of busy life.

Beautiful property that's secluded and camps are far enough away from each other you can't even notice other campers. We had a super friendly wombat that came up to our camp and just blended in like he was on of our dogs which was a cool experience. Vallance took my son for a tractor ride which was definitely a highlight of his camp trip. Thanks again 😊

We had a magical time at Riverbend camp site.... the hot tub was a winner! It was a lovely, green, secluded space for us to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the wildlife. Thanks Vallance for your detailed directions .... the narrow causeway would have been difficult to navigate without your instructions! We hope to return to this little piece of paradise!

The Crossing
The Crossing at Wombat Hollow is an idyllic spot beside the fresh, flowing creek. We appreciated that there was just a handful of sites on the property, thoughtfully spaced for the feeling of seclusion and ultimate peace and quiet. The site was well-maintained, freshly mown, and provided a great firepit and rustic log seating, as well as a quality picnic table. Host Vallance was responsive, helpful, and made communication easy. We had a lovely stay, in the company of kangaroos, wallabies, and abundant birdlife (and it was nice to know that the wombats and platypus were also neighbours, although we didn't see them). Thank you for sharing this special place. We plan to return in the future.

2nd stay at Billabong and as enjoyable as the first. Nice large, flat and private spot for our 2 vans and 2 dogs, right by a flowing river. Easy communication with Valence. Won’t be our last stay.

Beautiful scenery and plenty of space around our camp. Camp was situated at the top of a flowing river which the kids enjoyed all day. Highly recommend staying here, very clean and well maintained.

Wow such an amazing campsite. Had the whole place to myself most of the time I was there. Campsites are very spread out. So much wildlife around, went for an early morning walk and saw lots of wombats. Had the best time camping with my dog. Great communication from Vallance, easy to find. Can’t recommend more!
