If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. Far enough away to unwind and relax, close enough to get a caffeine fix if needed! Coming into summer camp fires are subject to weather conditions and fire warnings. Campers must be self-contained. Off grid campers, 4wd vehicles with pop ups or tents on ground and RVs can be accommodated. We have a leave only footprints philosophy. It was a great spot to camp about 10mins from the shops, flushing toilet and hot shower, fire wood all around, flat grass for the swag, friendly host, would stay again.

Beautiful camping overlooking the creek. In the morning you can see the kangaroos, cows and pelican from your tent. In the evening you can watch the stars and sit by the campfire! The property was well maintained and the host was very hospitable would definitely recommend! 🏕️

Weekend Trip to The Wandy Donkey Camp

Really enjoyed our camping here. We didn’t land till late on the Friday night and Kate give such clear instructions on where we needed to go, she’s was extremely helpful and quick to get back to my messages. Loved the open field for camping and surrounded by trees. When we came back on the Saturday evening we were greeted by a few kangaroos beside our tents, which was so nice to see in the wild as we don’t see them much coming from the city. The morning haze and sounds of different birds and kates roosters in the morning was lovely to wake up to. We got to pet and feed the animals which was an added bonus to our trip 😁 Really enjoyed our trip and the only thing that could do with work is the toilet/ bathroom situation. Otherwise couldn’t fault the camp!

1 night at Hidden Brook Southern Highlands NSW

This Hipcamp is breathtaking! I stayed at ‘across the creek’ which was a large paddock which the horses roam through. The horses are a highlight and very friendly all with a different personality. There is a dam with 2 kayaks available to use! The location is great for exploring the Southern Highlands region! Host is very helpful and responsive! I will definitely be back many times!

Weekend Trip to Wombat Hollow

The Crossing at Wombat Hollow is an idyllic spot beside the fresh, flowing creek. We appreciated that there was just a handful of sites on the property, thoughtfully spaced for the feeling of seclusion and ultimate peace and quiet. The site was well-maintained, freshly mown, and provided a great firepit and rustic log seating, as well as a quality picnic table. Host Vallance was responsive, helpful, and made communication easy. We had a lovely stay, in the company of kangaroos, wallabies, and abundant birdlife (and it was nice to know that the wombats and platypus were also neighbours, although we didn't see them). Thank you for sharing this special place. We plan to return in the future.

What a stunning place to pull up, set up a tent or campervan, sit under the sky, the stars, on the soft grass. Admiring and taking in the views of the surrounding mountains, trees, horses, cows and bird life. I loved this spot, it’s magical. Kerren and Mark are awesome hosts too!

Kerren is a wonderful host and her property is stunning. It was easy to fine and very convenient- close to Berry, Nowra, kangaroo valley, and Gerringong. Also very close to great little wineries. Kerren also offered a pony ride to our three year old son who absolutely loved it. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great stay at the sunset site. Lovely and remote but still had facilities and close enough to all the local towns. Our boxer boy loved the freedom on the site too. Leanne was great, even when we couldn’t find the site late at night and in the dark! Looking forward to a return.

2nd stay at Billabong and as enjoyable as the first. Nice large, flat and private spot for our 2 vans and 2 dogs, right by a flowing river. Easy communication with Valence. Won’t be our last stay.

Such a special little river escape. Very private and felt completely alone in the best way. The hosts were amazing and so helpful the whole time. Our dog had heaps of space to explore and loved every second. Can’t recommend it enough! we’ll 100% stay again!
