Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves. Please go straight ahead on Collins Ave and enter through the car entrance, NOT the truck entrance which is off to the right. If you come in the truck entrance I can't see you. There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people. You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore. The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

Fantastic spot with plenty of privacy and time to enjoy nature. We had a cattle dog who's is reactive and were able to let him off leash during the day, he was tied up at night and left alone by Cath's dogs. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get away and spend some peaceful time in nature.

We had one night here with extended check out (so two full days) and luckily had the place to ourselves. I accidentally booked a powered site but think we ended up on site #3? (unpowered). It was next to boat ramp and we swam and hung out in shade. The toilet and shower were clean (took a while to find it near trampoline close to the house). Toni was great to deal with online and John gave us a friendly welcome.

The experience was perfect. The campsite is close to a stream and a pond, with a great fire pit and tap water , a large shed to enjoy leisure time, and a convenient toilet. There are also several excellent hiking trails nearby, where you can enjoy the natural beauty when the weather is nice. It's easy to get in and out, and you don't need a 4x4 to get there(i drive a suv). All in all, it was an unforgettable experience. Five stars recommended!

The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are one large Greenhouse where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings. Dog friendly, no leads required, portable toilets in the multiple Camp site 1 and an older style toilet in the camping area 2, fresh water available only next to the portable toilets camping area 1. also included is a camp kitchen with fridge, kettle microwave etc for your convenience. Check with host regarding campfires. Please DO NOT invite friends and relatives to your campsite without first notifying Host. (little curtesy goes a long way) Group bookings accepted with prior notice to save camping areas. Range of six camping areas. CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. Bouddi National Park

Comprising the area immediately surrounding Pretty Beach, Bouddi National Park is made up of a diverse landscape of beaches, heathlands, cliffsides, and rainforest. Go swimming, fishing, or kayaking along the beaches. Or take walking tracks and biking trails through the park to significant Aboriginal heritage sites, wildflower fields, and even an old shipwreck. Bouddi Coastal Walk is renowned as one of the most beautiful walking tracks in the region, measuring 8 kilometres from Macmasters Beach to Putty Beach. Spend the night at tent campsites nearby, providing amenities like potable water, composting toilets, picnic tables, private firepits, and rubbish bins.

Brisbane Water National Park

Northwest of Pretty Beach, Brisbane Water National Park’s walking and cycling tracks take campers through scenic views and hundreds of Aboriginal rock engraving sites. Hiking trails throughout the park range from short loops to overnight treks. The park even hosts part of the Great North walk, from Wondabyne to Patonga and Patonga to Pearl Beach. Over 270 animal species make their habitats in the park as well, including rare and threatened birds like the glossy black cockatoo and spotted tail quoll. Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

When to go

Summer is the most popular time to visit Pretty Beach with the sun, sand, and surf setting a scene for swimming and snorkelling. Spring is also ideal as it brings a wealth of vibrant wildflowers and blooming fields in the area. Winters in Pretty Beach are mild, with July temperatures averaging about 16°C. However, winters are also particularly popular for whale watching as humpback whales make their way northward from May to July, making Pretty Beach a great year-round camping destination.
