Centrally located between Sydney and Brisbane (Just 2 minutes off the Pacific Hwy), 10 minutes South of Kempsey Service Centre, and 18 minutes North of Port Macquarie Service Centre. The camping area is level and open, with plenty of space for your setup. All campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you to take all waste when you go. Pets are welcome too. We have spent many years building the camp area in order to enable access so that we can share with you, what we are lucky to wake up to each day. This property and our camping offering is a work in progress, any feedback/suggestions (be they positive or negative) we would love to hear from you when you stay with us. Secluded Racecourse Beach is a short drive south of Crescent Head on the mid-north coast of NSW. We have a beautiful 11 acres of coastal land where you can hear the waves as you sleep with the pristine Racecourse Beach only a 5 to 10 minute walk away. We are not directly on the beach and do not have beach access. Racecourse Beach is a great spot for surfing, fishing and swimming. All you need to do is find one of our intimate sites for you to pitch a tent or pull up with the camper van. THERE ARE NO AMENITIES SO YOU MUST BE FULLY SELF CONTAINED AND LEAVE NO TRACE. Fires are allowed, but must be contained in an off ground fire pit brought by camper. Firewood is available to purchase from the service station in Crescent Head and you are also welcome to gather wood from the property.

Part of a 101-acre property on the North Shore of Port Macquarie very close to the main town and beaches. The site provides one of the best fishing spots in the area if you’d like to cast a line, or you can simply relax on the private jetty—or at your van—and watch the activity along the river. A slipway is also available should you wish to launch your canoe. As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, and to access the property you must cross the river using the Settlement Point Ferry The Hibbard Ferry operates (6am - 10am / 2pm-7pm) Mon -Fri and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf. NOTE THERE IS A COST WHEN USING THE FERRY North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road. Beautiful undulating bush block with a lovely dam for swimming. The property offers about 10 acres of cleared and reasonably flat land to choose your campsite. Dogs are welcome under supervision. All guests need to be completely self contained. You will need to have your own toilet and shower facilities. As Caravans and RVs are unable to access the road further west, this is a great place to set up a base camp for day trips. Just 5 kms from Macleay river which is ideal for canoeing, fishing, swimming, etc. 10 kms east of the lovely area of Nulla Ck (home of Slim Dusty) and the historic village of Bellbrook that has a quaint old Pub that serves delicious food and has great views of the river. Past Bellbrook there is Blackbird Flat,(canoeing), Georges Ck Junction, and Wollomombi Falls, just to name a few.

What a lovely location this is on the Hastings River, a great spot to visit, and it's so close to the town of Port Macquarie and its beaches and attractions as well. Mark was great. He made our stay memorable, and we will certainly return in the future.

What an amazing find!!! A beautiful location to get away from it all. The property was impeccably maintained and the host Mark was absolutely lovely. His recommendations were spot on! We really loved setting up camp for the night, enjoying the stars and cooking over our fire. Our dog was absolutely thrilled to be off leash too and run and sniff around. We will definitely bookmark this spot to come back again & again!

Easy access for any size rig, cabana with large table, firepit with logs to sit on and heaps of kindling about. Handy tree stump for chopping your wood. Huge area with a nice river to park nearby. Nearby highway didn’t produce anywhere near as much noise as we thought it might. Nice stopover.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Racecourse. The critters in the swamp provided endless entertainment with their orchestra of sounds, the Rainbow Bee Eaters were delightful as they were nesting, and we have never used such a clean portaloo before. Heaps of secluded spots that make you feel close to nature. You can also hear the ocean and walk to it! Absolute bliss. Thanks Paul and Alex!

Nice camping location. The river was a little discoloured from the recent rain but would be ideal for summer camping. Good directions to the Hipcamp and easy to get caravan into. Fire pits were provided which made it slightly more challenging cooking with a camp oven but placing underneath the raised fire pit worked perfectly. Great host. Free use of a kayak along with plenty of firewood to use from the property. Even solar lights came on at nighttime. There’s noise from the highway from the many trucks which took away a little of the ambience but nothing that kept us awake.

Peter was a perfect host! Clear instructions & he met us upon arrival to share some hints about where to park up. Peter's property is gorgeous. We parked up right next to the river, set up, not too much to do as we were only staying one night, had a wander along the river, firepit, drinks & tunes. It was perfectly relaxing & just what we needed after our son's wedding the weekend before.
