We also have a couple of swamp hen families. A number of fruit bats from Wingham brush reach us most nights at dusk. We have also seen an owl near the chicken coop & if you're lucky you may spot the kangaroos in the paddock. We welcome tents, campervans, trailer tents and caravans but you need to provide your own drinking water- outside solar shower is available that can be filled up at the rainwater tank by the camp kitchen. NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET FACILITIES WITH HOLDING TANK The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 3 parties at once. We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen. Fires allowed but only in contained firepits and off ground. We currently have 3 firepit presently to use at your own site (must be kept off ground on bricks provided). The cabin is off grid, includes a small kitchenette with 2 burner gas stove, fridge, has double bed and 2 single beds. We have a BBQ and fire pit. This is rustic living, no flash flush here but a practical long drop eco-friendly compost toilet and a fantastic gas hot water shower out in the elements! You will need to bring your own bedding, pillows sheets etc. we are on tank water and at times it is low! Dogs are welcome but please bring their own bedding. The property is also home to local wildlife and filled with lots of old trees, plants and flowers whilst enjoy your morning cuppa on the balcony As we are 45 minutes from the closest town, you will need to fuel up before you head up the mountain. Also bring drinking water and all the food you will require for your stay. The Elands general store carries basic groceries, beer wine and spirits. Loads of walking tracks nearby; the Legendary Ellenborough Falls is 5 mins by car or half hour walk through the Elands Village Hour and half from Port Macquarie and Forster and one hour from Taree in the hinterland from Wingham or Comboyne (coming from Port Macquarie). There is an endless network of gravel roads and fire trails waiting to be explored, taking you through the national parks, state forests and undulating farmlands of the Bulga Plateau. This delightful self contained cabin is a perfect getaway for you to work on your project, (longer stays can be negotiated) be it visual art; a book; a film script; photography or simply forest breathing to clear the mind. Blue Knob (Kaoraoa) at 1014 metres, is one of the highest peaks in the forest with Panoramic Plateau Views of the surrounding country. 40 mins by car. I'm retired now and appreciate even more, living in paradise. The usually good amount of rain, the ever warmer summers when we can swim in the Ellenborough River. Yes after 40 years on the Bulga I can feel the changes in the environment, Come and enjoy!

LOCATION: The property lies at the foot of the sheer and majestic Lansdowne Escarpment, bordering Coorabakh National Park. Stunning valley views are to be had from the Flat Rock viewing platform located on the rim of the escarpment above the property. This is a popular spot for local bushwalkers, hikers, and visitors to the area. The cottage is 27 km or a 25-minute drive north of Taree Airport, 45 minutes south of Port Macquarie, and 5 minutes from Upper Lansdowne village. There is a distance of 3kms of unsealed road which is regularly maintained to a good standard by our local council. The nearest x street is Muddy Lane. GUEST BOOK Please familiarise yourself with the guest book and observe our house rules contained therein. Information on our house and safety rules, as well as local attractions and tips for getting the most from your rural holiday experience. EXCLUSIONS: No conventional oven. No gourmet kitchen experience. Please use the dual burner butane gas stove and kettle gas barbeque, electric stainless steel cooker, slow cooker/crock pot, and various other electric appliances available to you. No laundry or clothes washing machine. (we are in a rural location so there is no town water. Our water supply is captured rainwater which is in limited supply) There are several laundromat services available in Taree if you need to wash. BYO FOOD, TOILETRIES, and FIREWOOD Blue Hills Cottage is a self-catered holiday experience and guests are required to bring their own supplies including food, toiletries, firewood, starters, and matches. We recommend that you plan your trip in advance to include the acquisition of supplies before setting out. The nearest shopping centre is in Taree which is 35 minute drive from the property. A Kettle oven gas Barbecue and a butane gas dual burner stove top are located on the internal verandah. Bedrooms: There are 2 bedrooms in the cottage which will comfortably sleep 4 adults ( ie 1 couple per room) or a small family. Bedroom One has a queen-size four-poster bed, wardrobes, a dresser, 2 bedside chests and bedside lamps, and a long mirror. Bedroom two has a Queen Anne double four-poster bed, wardrobe, dresser, and bedside lamps. Beds are fitted with electric blankets during the cooler months. Both bedrooms are fitted with a cool cycle air unit and ceiling fans for your Summer comfort. There is a spare room containing a single bed located outside the cottage on the verandah. There is no ceiling fan or air-con available in this room. The cottage will comfortably accommodate two couples or a small family or up to four single adults (who prefer not to share) All bed linen, blankets, doonas, pillows, and towels are provided by your Host. Bathroom: Basic bathroom equipped with shower, toilet, wash basin and cupboard. No bathtub. Due to our limited supply of tank water, there is no washing machine in the cottage. In the hinterland of the Mid North Coast NSW on Biripi Country. The Bulga Plateau is the place to unwind, swim in mountain rivers and enjoy the Old Growth forests (yes we still have a few left Balgarr means mountain in local Gattang language. 600 metres above sea level on clear nights it feels like you are close enough to touch the Milky Way! The cabin is off grid, includes a small kitchenette with 2 burner gas stove, fridge, has double bed and 2 single beds. We have a BBQ and fire pit. This is rustic living, no flash flush here but a practical long drop eco-friendly compost toilet and a fantastic gas hot water shower out in the elements! You will need to bring your own bedding, pillows sheets etc. we are on tank water and at times it is low! Dogs are welcome but please bring their own bedding. The property is also home to local wildlife and filled with lots of old trees, plants and flowers whilst enjoy your morning cuppa on the balcony As we are 45 minutes from the closest town, you will need to fuel up before you head up the mountain. Also bring drinking water and all the food you will require for your stay. The Elands general store carries basic groceries, beer wine and spirits. Loads of walking tracks nearby; the Legendary Ellenborough Falls is 5 mins by car or half hour walk through the Elands Village Hour and half from Port Macquarie and Forster and one hour from Taree in the hinterland from Wingham or Comboyne (coming from Port Macquarie). There is an endless network of gravel roads and fire trails waiting to be explored, taking you through the national parks, state forests and undulating farmlands of the Bulga Plateau. This delightful self contained cabin is a perfect getaway for you to work on your project, (longer stays can be negotiated) be it visual art; a book; a film script; photography or simply forest breathing to clear the mind. Blue Knob (Kaoraoa) at 1014 metres, is one of the highest peaks in the forest with Panoramic Plateau Views of the surrounding country. 40 mins by car. I'm retired now and appreciate even more, living in paradise. The usually good amount of rain, the ever warmer summers when we can swim in the Ellenborough River. Yes after 40 years on the Bulga I can feel the changes in the environment, Come and enjoy!

Stunning valley views are to be had from the Flat Rock viewing platform located on the rim of the escarpment above the property. This is a popular spot for local bushwalkers, hikers, and visitors to the area. The cottage is 27 km or a 25-minute drive north of Taree Airport, 45 minutes south of Port Macquarie, and 5 minutes from Upper Lansdowne village. There is a distance of 3kms of unsealed road which is regularly maintained to a good standard by our local council. The nearest x street is Muddy Lane. We also have a couple of swamp hen families. A number of fruit bats from Wingham brush reach us most nights at dusk. We have also seen an owl near the chicken coop & if you're lucky you may spot the kangaroos in the paddock. We welcome tents, campervans, trailer tents and caravans but you need to provide your own drinking water- outside solar shower is available that can be filled up at the rainwater tank by the camp kitchen. NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET FACILITIES WITH HOLDING TANK The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 3 parties at once. We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen. Fires allowed but only in contained firepits and off ground. We currently have 3 firepit presently to use at your own site (must be kept off ground on bricks provided). Fires not allowed during total fire bans Take your camping chairs to the edge of 1 of 2 dams and watch our pet ducks. Pets on leashes are welcome. Plenty to see and do around here.

Weekend Trip to Footprints in Style
Lucy’s place was incredible. The facilities were so clean and well thought out. the hot shower was amazing after swimming in the lake, and having the sauna was such a luxury touch. The whole property feels peaceful and private, and we had everything we needed for a really relaxing weekend. Lucy was so friendly and helpful, and made the whole stay feel easy and welcoming. Would 100% come back.

What a beautiful property, beautifully maintained, clean, tidy, very friendly hosts, the donga was very nice and the big verandah was very handy as we had other family members with small children camping with us, this made meal time outside very nice. I would recommend this property to anyone. The fishing was good too.

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehouse. Sophie was an amazing host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation was immaculate and beautifully appointed. We normally camp so it was wonderful to be totally “off-grid” but with the luxury of electricity, hot showers, a flushing toilet, comfy furniture to relax in, and even Starlink - what a rare find! We did almost everything on Sophie’s suggested activities - 4WD’ing, swimming & kayaking along the pristine river, the breathtaking drive out to Ellenborough falls, and we even had a bonfire. The kids loved the flying fox and all the friendly animals - they loved the al pacas, played with the dogs, patted the cows, fed the horses and chooks and collected delicious fresh eggs every morning. The full farmstay experience. We can’t wait to come back again - thanks Sophie!

We loved our stay in the Love Tent at Footprints in style! The tent was very cosy and comfortable with everything you need. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, I wish we were there longer! The site is quite spaced out so very quiet despite there being a number of campers there. The communal kitchen is very handy and I loved the ‘outdoor’ showers! Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use the sauna but I definitely will next time. It was so great that we were able to take our dog with us 😊 Lucy is such a great host and looks after the site very well. We can’t wait to come back.

I loved staying at Meredith’s land, it was beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was cute and had a few camping spots scattered around. The spot was close to a lot of the local towns, restaurants, beaches and national parks, very spoilt for choice. Meredith was very knowledgeable of the local area and provided some great recommendations.

Wow when I drove in it was like campers heaven! A big heart mowed into a hill above a dam. Lots of people with friendly dogs, my dog loved it. I stayed in the Love Tent - it was so comfy and cute. Lucy was lovely, vibrant, generous energy. I felt like I was in bali, Mexico or Costa Rica… a fabulous halfway stop between Sydney and Brisbane.

The Mountaintop Shack had incredible views, the photos don’t do it justice. It only had very basic ammenities so be sure to bring an Eski, bedding and shower (if staying more than one night). You will definitely need a 4WD to get to the top, but worth it once you get there! The cows were adorable and friendly, and our pup and 8month old baby had a great time exploring. John was super helpful and gave perfect directions. Thanks a million John!

What a comfortable and lovely stay! After arriving, we found the Love Tent perfectly set up for a comfortable nights stay, nothing to set up, just arrive and relax! The property has so many great areas to explore, including amazing warm showers that overlook a beautiful creek! This was truly a special experience! Not to mention that the bed was so soft and comfortable that we had the best nights sleep. Highly recommend!

My partner and I have stayed two years in a row for our regular NSW to QLD trip and both times loved it! Both the Love tent and Cabin are great options that we have used. Lots of space for campers, great swimming dam worth a dip or just a place to sit and have a drink when the sunsets. This year we traveled with our pup and he was very welcome and loved exploring the property. Lucy the host is so welcoming and kind. Already planning our next trip back.

What a fabulous place to stay!! Lucy is incredibly welcoming and has created a safe space filled with character. Loos and showers are great and the views from every angle are special. The damn is a lot of fun for swimming and hanging out. Close to the highway and just 20 mins to beautiful beaches. Couldn’t recommend more!
