Weekend Trip to Quorragami

This is a great property, with a lovely outlook over the rural area. There is a bathroom with flushing toilets and a tap for hand washing. A few other taps exist around the sites for washing etc (noting is not drinkable - it is dam water etc). Getting there, make sure to follow the Google maps instructions which take you in via Barraba Rd, as some other nav apps will try to send you down Swan Lane (which is not the right way, and will lead you into a dead end about 10km away). Also worth nothing that the last few kms (and inside the property) is unsealed road, with a couple shallow water crossings. But once at the location, you will be happy. Nice place, dog friendly, firepit friendly, nice and quiet. Would definitely go again.

4 nights at Quorragami

My wife, daughter, and I spent a weekend camping on Damien’s property and had a truly relaxing experience. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, but the highlight for us was definitely the large hot tub overlooking the valley. It's heated by a wood fire in a nearby fire pit and takes a couple of hours to warm up, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. We spent hours soaking in the tub while enjoying some local wines - pure bliss. The property has only recently opened to guests, and Damien and his family have done a fantastic job creating a luxury camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Willa Willa Park

We spent the weekend at Darren’s property and had an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Darren helped us get settled in and answered all our questions. Over the next few days, he showed us around the property and we had the chance to interact with the animals, which was a highlight. The campsite had a private bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen — everything was extremely clean and well-organised. Darren is very friendly and made us feel right at home. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful. We highly recommend this place — 10 out of 10! We’ll definitely be back!

4 nights at Abstobys Retreat

The 3 sites are clean & tidy. Shower & toilet well maintained. Gate is locked after hour's great no safety issues. Louise is very pleasant and is most welcoming we take our small house dog on a lead & he also enjoys his stay too. We visit often with friends and they are also eager to return. The birdlife is lovely to see & listen too.

Would absolutely recommend for solo travelers and families. There are cows on the property that come and say hello. The views are incredible, especially if you wake up early to see the sunrise above the trees. The property is enough off the main road that you don’t see anyone or hear cars but still close to town that you can pop in for a coffee or explore. The camp site is very big so that you and other campers aren’t right next to each other. Will definitely be back! Can’t recommend enough!

Stunning spot! Beautiful views and very private, with amazing sunsets. Luke was a wonderful host, friendly and welcoming. The kids loved exploring and feeding the farm animals. Great location and clear directions. Will definitely be back to stay again!

Lovely location (hidden away behind some windy roads). Very well spaced out sites and more private sites further in. No phone coverage which to me is a plus 😂 Owners were nice and friendly. About 5 minutes from town (expect tourist pricing for everything except the pub). Would be happy to spend a long weekend there again!

Weekend Trip to Fern Valley Ranch

Our 2 night camping trip with our children (10 & 7) at Fern Valley Ranch was an amazing experience. It was our first time camping and it was such a perfect place for it. We were situated next to the orchard and a paddock with a beautiful, friendly horse and pony. We had our own fireplace and we had plenty of room for our large Ute and 9 person tent. The camp ground had a sink located next to the paddock, which was great for cleaning off our utensils and washing our hands. There was also toilets on the camp grounds which are open pit, but it was well maintained and had a sink and sanitiser. Around the Orchard, near the chickens was three cubicles which had a toilet, sink and a shower with hot water. When we arrived, the caretaker Ballyn came to greet us and let us know about the grounds and great places to explore. Ballyn did chicken feeding with the children (and let the adults join in to!) which was really fun. A short walk from the chickens was a “must see” waterfall that is very impressive. Another trail takes you to a beautiful open hut with a wood crafted table and chairs. A third trail takes you to “The Rock” which we unfortunately never made it to due to the amount of leeches on this trail due to the wet weather. The kids had the best time exploring all the different trails and discovering all the different mushrooms and fruits on the property. We would love to thank Ballyn and Jiji for such a memorable experience. We will definitely be back! 100% recommend

Wollombi Rolling Ridges

Ridgetop views evoke stillness and quiet to enjoy the abundant nature, from lyre birds, black cockatoos, wallabies, wombats, goannas as well as many different bird species depending on the season. Whilst the property is 100 acres, we also border Yengo State Forrest so if you're experienced hikers you can tramp until your hearts content without needing permission to cross private properties. The bushfire regrowth is dense and difficult to travers. so I have cut in a loop walk to a rock ledge lookout (see pics) plus 4km return walk to dry creek bed; with caves, pancake rock platforms, and beautiful old trees. Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in pristine nature while being only 1.5 hrs from Newcastle or Wahroonga (start of M1) There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers We live simply in a Yurt on solar and rain water, apart from us, you will be the only campers so you are able to enjoy the quiet all to yourselves. (See pic 4 to see distance yurt is from camping pad). Have 1yrold Border Collie Cross and training her to be well socialised around other dogs. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place for you. It's the place for stargazers and nature lovers. In the evenings, you won't hear us nor my neighbours so it's only fair that my neighbours don't hear you. No loud music allowed, being a ridge the noise travels and it scares away the wildlife. We're 15mins on dirt tracks from Wollombi village. 2WD vehicle needs high clearance and dry tracks, so check with me first. 4WD and AWD preferable. Dogs love roaming around off leash, if yours is good with recall, as there's no fencing. Children under 5yrs no charge. You may use our composting loo or bring your own camping loo. (see pic 5 and 6) FIRES: Only firepit/cooking fire is allowed from 1st October to 31st March. Firepit provided (see pic 7 ) Open bonfires allowed from 1st April to 30th Sept, as per state rules. Regardless of season all fires are Bushfire Rating Dependant. You can roam around and collect what has fallen on the ground, bring a small battery saw to cut bigger limbs off fallen trees, if you wish.

Premium and exclusive natural camping at its best. Our farm is located on the beautiful Karuah River in the picturesque Monkerai valley. The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more. Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites. Because this has occurred we will only allow campers with camping toilets. In order for us to accept your request you need to confirm you have a toilet. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . Sitting on 25 acres this spot is great to just unwind and relax, looking out over the trees down the valley is as beautiful as it gets. A lot of bird activity will accompany your mornings and afternoons. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit at nighttime roasting marshmallows. Come nighttime during September - February it is the mating season for koalas, the valley being a known corridor for koloas you quite often hear them searching for their partner. being such an accessible site and not off the beaten track, some days you may notice more vehicles driving past. Just a short drive to the local country pub, even a few local wineries. Take the old convict road all the way down to the country pub at st Albans, which is very peaceful for adults but theres also a creek for the kids to play in and newly upgraded playground. Off the convict road there are a few 4wd tracks. Just back from the property you have direct access into the Watagan Mountains, which offers great 4wd tracks, lots of hiking trails, motorbike tracks and even a few waterfalls.

The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.
