Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. If you want exclusive use of the paddocks, refer to Group Bush Retreat.

With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals. Water refill and waste disposal is available at Queanbeyan showground. The Mulligans Flat Reserve, about 10 minutes away, is a real first in Australia, given that a very large area has been set aside near Canberra to foster wildlife. Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. Town center is a 5 min drive or a short walk/ride, so access to town facilities and amenities is very convenient. Please refer to images for the latter. Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area. River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk. Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin! Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them. Please ensure you book the site you prefer by referring to the image of the sites in this listing. Check image for entrance locations for each site. You will need to be a self-contained camper with own camping toilet/shower, and supplies. We have one power outlet available (only available for "Wombles Common" sites). Camp kitchen - no longer available. We LOVE to see your photos, please feel free to share your camping adventure by uploading your happy snaps. Known as the Hilltop region, the township of Boorowa, and surrounds are full of rolling hills, farmlands and bush. If you visit in spring, you'll be able to see fields full of bright yellow canola flowers as far as the eye can see. Bring your camera! Townships close by: Yass, Young, Harden, Binalong, Rye Park, Cowra, Wyangla Dam, Burrinjuck Dam, Wee Jasper (1.5hrs from Canberra, 3.5hrs from Sydney). The Campervan at Margot's was the perfect getaway for someone who doesn't have all the gear but still enjoys some time outdoors! The owners were very attentive and welcoming of me and my dog. We went hiking on the property and surrounding towns. Its proximity to Canberra and wineries also make it the perfect little getaway!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay on Spring Creek Farm. Bill was a great host and guided us to our site on arrival. Peaceful spot with panoramic views of the country side, out in the open but private. Lots of firewood around and we caught a glimpse of the resident wombat.

Lovely quiet spot; don’t tell anyone. Sunset and sunrise from the big hill highly recommended and the view is spectacular. Had a bath on the way up, met the cows but the sheep were shy. Will happily return.

Spectacular private and secluded campsite on top of a hill surrounded by natural bush. Fabulous views of the surrounding area. Facilities were incredible, including a camp kitchen with BBQ and open fireplace, table and chairs, flushing toilet and shower with hot water. There was also a large fire pit, but due to fire restrictions, we could not use it on this occasion.

An amazing little spot super close to Goulburn. The site was beautiful and had such a nice outlook and the hosts were absolutely amazing. Our kids absolutely loved playing with Katie and her husband’s boys and their cousins. The kids absolutely loved the buggy rides. Would stay again in a heartbeat

Perfect for a single night stay on our way back North. Not packed-out. Plenty of space. Calm and Quiet. Think we were lucky there was no event on at the main property. Zero campfire policy was a shame, but didn’t stop us from enjoying the stay. Bathrooms clean. Happy to recommend as a great short-stay option.

What a fabulous spot. It was a little crowded the time we visited but it was Xmas week so avoid that week if you like a bit of space. That being said we stilled loved our visit. The river is stunning and Wayne is a legend who is willing to share a piece of paradise with us.

We highly recommend this campsite. Stunning sites right on the banks of the Tumut River. It was a very peaceful idyllic place to spend the first night of our road-trip. Great location close to town (tamut). The host was very responsive and greeted us upon arrival. There were 2 pit toilets and very clean and well maintained. We stayed at this hipcamp as they were the only dog-friendly place nearby (we wanted somewhere as close as possible to Gundagai). Almost everyone has dogs and it was a great atmosphere. The only downsides were that it was very very crowded (we stayed here boxing day, at least 50 other groups). Also you couldn't book just one night you were forced to book two nights. We paid for 2 nights but just stayed 1 (as it was the only dog-friendly option) so for us not the best value for money. I did mention this to the host and he said it is Hipcamp that sets that not him - although we stayed with 3 other Hipcamp sites on this trip and was able to stay just 1 night no problem.

I can't recommend this site enough! we stayed at site 11 and it was perfect. Absolutely no one in sight and a huge area to set everything up. There were also bins and a porta-loo nearby which was great. Being near the creek was perfect for the dogs who liked a quick dip now and again to cool off. There were also some great little walks to explore and we saw all sorts of wildlife including kangaroos which made our trip! Another plus was the amazing skies on an evening..sooo many stars to sit and look at! And the best bit, absolute silence the whole time. We'll definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It’s a quiet and beautiful spot right next to the creek, perfect for relaxing. The flush toilets were a big plus, and everything was well looked after. The hosts, John & Jen, were lovely and very welcoming. Highly recommended for a peaceful camping experience.
