Pleasant View is in a quiet location and ideally suited to those who want solitude, spectacular scenery and easy access to all the features this district has to offer. Situated on 28ha (70 acres) of grazing land, 5km north of Mudgee, with superb views across the Cudgegong Valley. Located 10 minutes drive from town and the wineries, with a bitumen road to our front gate. Cycling tours are an attractive option. Our camping sites suit self-contained guests who have everything they need and leave no trace. Dogs are welcome but, as we have sheep, they need to be on a lead at all times. Some firewood is available on site but fires are dependent on conditions and RFS requirements so we ask that you check with us before lighting a fire.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

Tar sealed road all the way to the front gate and then only 150metres in on farm to your campsite on a very well-maintained road suitable for ALL vehicles. We have wide gate access to suit all vehicles/trailers of any size to go in and out and all sites are grassy and level. Great spot to relax, chill and take in the amazing country air and surroundings, relax by a fire, cook marshmallows or a camp oven feast. Walk down to the edge of this campsite and listen to the creek trickle past, go bushwalking, listen to the birds and watch the Kangaroos. Of a night you will be amazed at how many stars you can see, it is just beautiful, so don't forget to look up. Please put in ‘Beelisco Honey’ into google maps to see how far we are from you. Our farm is a family run business with Husband, wife and 2 young boys, we run horses and cattle all year round and grow Lucerne hay on a few large flats around the farm. There are dozens of birds and other wildlife (pets are welcome, but must be under control). Bring everything you need, then take it away when you go. 4WD access recommended. Enjoy your camp! Sites are flat, grassy, and big enough for backyard cricket! Guests must be fully self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Pets are welcomed. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit.

Weekend Trip to Pleasant View

Nice quiet spot to park up and relax with nobody but the sheep, roos and birds. Graham was very welcoming, even gave us some delicious farm fresh eggs. He is super responsive and met us on the main road to guide us in and went out of his way to make sure there was no low hanging branches for our caravan. Highly recommend a stay here. Graham was very welcoming & helpful. We received some delicious farm eggs on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Very convenient to Mudgee & many of the attractions Mudgee region has to offer. We were the only caravaners, but there is plenty of room to share on the property.

Great location for a pitstop for our trip to Mudgee and beyond from Newcastle. Camped near the creek and would definately recommend a weekend or so stay. We met out host M'Liss and she was great. She gave us some recommendations to explore locally. We had the campsite to ourselves cooking over the fire.

Definitely would recommend staying at Grahams land, he offered different options for us to camp and showed us around. He met us at the turn off the main road and allowed us to follow him to the land making it super easy for us! Graham was super quick to reply! The scenery and views are amazing and the sunrise and sunset can be viewed perfectly over the mountains, would definitely love to visit again.

We had the whole Beelisco campsite to ourselves, and it was pure bliss. The place is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature with the most beautiful creek just a short walk away. It felt private and untouched — the ideal spot to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors. Everything was well-kept, and you can really feel the care that’s gone into maintaining the land. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a quiet, serene escape. We’ll definitely be back! 💚

Weekend Trip to Beelisco Honey Hipcamp

We stopped in for just one night at Beelisco and wished we had the time to stay longer. We stayed at the creekside site and had the whole place to ourselves. The site was huge and well maintained, with a new and clean compost toilet (which my partner said smelled like honey). The creek was stunning, unfortunately didn’t see any wildlife but saw what we believed to be kangaroo prints on the sand of the creek, so sat patiently waiting to see if any came back. Would absolutely stay again. And will be recommending this to anyone I know who is staying in the area.

We had another great stay at Home Base. It’s very peaceful and such a great place to relax. Plenty of shelter and love the forge for camp fire cooking. Recommend staying here. Stop at the little shop at Hargraves on the way in. The pies are delicious.

We just spent a phenomenal time at this campsite and can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, our host, Bruce, made us feel welcome. He's incredibly accommodating and friendly, stopping by to check in, chat, and—most importantly—dropping off a huge supply of firewood and a firepit. He made it clear that he was available if we needed anything at all, which we really appreciated. The site is truly a perfect family retreat. We loved the natural beauty, especially the pristine, flowing river. The grounds were impeccably kept: the grass was lush, green, and perfectly trimmed. The ultimate luxury was the total peace and privacy of having the entire area to ourselves. We are already planning our return for a much longer visit!

Graham is the nicest and kindest host I’ve ever met. He was welcoming and good one to talk to. He told me a lot about kangaroos sheep etc. even gave me asparagus to eat and eggs from his chicken coop. I also met his grandkids, two little boys cute ones too. they had a lot of stories to tell. it was a fun camping for me. I was by myself, but I felt safe in the farm and everything went smoothly. I would love to go back again.

Magical spot right by the creek. The site and facilities were clean and well maintained. Lots of beautiful birds around. We were the only guests and we loved having the campsite all to ourselves. Bonus points for being dog-friendly! We will definitely be back.
