Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp.
Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly.
Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base.
The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees.
After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property.
Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban.
We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience.
Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking.
Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home.
Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house.
We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking.
The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill.
In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence.
The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future.
During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar.
The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing.
The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive.
The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services).
We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore.
We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs.
Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs.
We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by.
We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. We are in Core Koala Habitat and love our koalas, we hope you do too.

This area is great to watch the sunset over the macadamia orchard or sit by the campfire at night. This campsite is set in a very private location on our 26 acre property.
You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. There is access to a picnic table for meals.

Great spot to stop for the night on your trip or stay for a weekend and take in the peace and quiet. We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also.
Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you.
Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer.
More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you.

Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly.
Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base.
The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees.
After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property.
Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban.
We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience.
Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking.
Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home.
Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house.
We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking.
The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill.
In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence.
The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future.
During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar.
The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing.
The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive.
The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services).
We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore.
We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs.
Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs.
We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by.
We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. We are in Core Koala Habitat and love our koalas, we hope you do too.

We loved our stopover night at Brickella. The directions to the property were great and once on the property was easy to find a great, quiet and secluded place to camp the night. We were greeted by a very friendly horse that wonders around the camp area. We met Phil while we were fishing, he is a top bloke and he was happy to share his story about the property. We will definitely be back to this hipcamp in the future.

We had such a lovely stay at Ina and Lance’s site. The macadamia farm/forested fairy glen is beautiful. It's lush, quiet, private and incredibly peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you immediately slow down and relax to the sounds of nature.
Ina and her family are genuinely warm and welcoming hosts, and you can really see how much care they’ve put into the property. The old silos they’ve converted are a great touch - the BBQ/recreation area is both practical and charming, and a really nice spot to spend the evening.
The bathroom silo was spotless and well set up, with good lighting and a proper hot shower, which was much appreciated.
Everything felt clean, thoughtful, and well looked after.
Overall, it’s a special place that feels personal and well cared for. We’d happily stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature.

A really beautiful property. Flat, level grassy fields set amongst the trees. Lots of kangaroos, birds and a friendly horse. There is so much room to sprawl out, you are guaranteed privacy. Great for kids too with so much room to run and make noise. Phil was exceptionally welcoming and made us feel right at home. No issues with access towing 22ft off road caravan. Would absolutely recommend and we will definitely return.

Phil is a great guy with a beautiful property. He was really friendly and cool to chat to but laid back and easy going. The space is so big that you can easily find a private spot to your liking. The mozzies are hardcore but not a problem if you bring some heavy duty bug repellent. There were a few other people camping as it was peak season during summer holidays but we felt secluded in our own beautiful temporary home in nature… will definitely be coming back!

The camp site itself was also gorgeous. Completely secluded with a self built little hut and toilet/shower hut. Amenities were super clean and well kept. Would definitely want to visit again!! Thanks a lot :)

Oh my god. Mosquito central! Phil the host is so lovely, and we really enjoyed staying here but man we were not prepared for the influx of the mozzies. None of our heavy duty repellants cut the mustard, and even our super smoky fires only staved them off for a little bit. We tried to go for a fish at the creek but could only last 10-20 minutes before driven out with bugs. One of our dogs broke out in a huge bumpy rash from them, and you could see a black cloud of them following the dogs everywhere even with repellant on them. We are avid campers, but have never experienced this level of them before. Mozzies aside, the camp site was so pretty. Lovely and flat, with beautiful bushlands around. The more private sites are towards the bushland, otherwise you’re very exposed. The camp was very well maintained and it’s clear Phil puts a lot of effort into this place. There was chopped up wood and limbs all over for firewood and he was more than happy for our pups to run off lead. The camp horse is also incredibly friendly and has to be one of the most tolerant horses I have ever met… not even tilting an ear at our boisterous dogs. We definitely would stay here again, just not any time at all near mosquito season!

This is a good camp to base yourself whilst exploring the nearby beaches, less than 30 mins to Lennox Head and Ballina. Camps are set up right along the creek/lagoon and the host was very friendly and helpful. The creek was not good for swimming but there were some other campers kayaking the creek and we often seen turtles surfacing. Good permanent firepit and nice open paddocks. The entry was well signed and grounds maintained.

Loved this spot, right on the river and 3 mins drive to the beach. Grass wasn't the nicest to walk on barefoot but there were no prickles etc even our toddler was barefoot. Owner was easy going, but still ready to deal with some rowdy neighbours cranking music.

When to go
The NSW north coast gets very busy during summer school holidays, but February and March are pretty crowd-free with many accommodation options. Even in winter—when you’ve got a good chance of seeing migrating whales from the many headland vantage points—the weather is usually very kind. Swimming is best from October to May, while autumn is ideal for beach fishing.
Know before you go
- Road rules are the same on beaches as they are on bitumen roads, except that the maximum speed limit allowed on beaches is 40 kilometres per hour. Also keep an eye out for nesting seabirds…and sunbathers.
- Iluka tour operators offer kayak tours, snorkelling, bikes, standup paddle boarding, and kayak hires.
- Recreational fishing licenses are mandatory in New South Wales. Find them online or at most fishing bait-and-tackle shops.
