Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive.
If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick!

We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Take a relaxed stroll around the property and depending on the season you might spy a wylie fox or a turtle laying eggs. Deer occasionally visit and echidnas and wombats, although nocturnal animals sometimes are a precious sight. There are platypus in the creek and fish in the lake.k
Pre-booked riding lessons available. We have a state forest over the road suited to bush walking or mountain bikes. Ammo the horse who galloped out in the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony is buried here at Lakestead Farm. We love to speak about our Olympic experience.

We are located minutes from the M1, easy to break your journey,
40 minutes from Wahroonga and Newcastle exit. Just 5 minutes drive to Wyong Centre with shopping centre and good restaurants, and 20 minutes drive to beaches. Off the ground fires are allowed outside bushfire season. Wood to be supplied by campers. Our property is designed to welcome small groups of people who want a quiet getaway. Because we like to keep it more intimate, The property is not designed for large groups of 10 or more wanting a social gathering or party.
We are an easy 40 minute drive to the Hunter Valley wineries and concerts in the vines
The Lake can be fun to swim or paddle around but all visitors must wear life vests whilst in the water.

At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites.
Because this has occurred we will only allow campers with camping toilets.
In order for us to accept your request you need to confirm you have a toilet.
Don’t say yes if you don’t have one, Checks will be done, if you don’t have a portable toilet you will be asked to leave and your fees won’t be refunded.

This property is a Pristine Riverfront property in Colo Valley. It is a tidal river with sandy shallow sandbars and 10ft deep swimming holes. The access is 2wd unless there has been significant rain it becomes 4wd access.
We accommodate the larger groups
just steps away from the river. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with
shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area .
We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers.
We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.
We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any pets
Additional activities here include fishing, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing & birdwatching. We are also only a

The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months.
We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area.
FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. Our property is located on direct lake front reserve, with a safe sandy bay to explore with the kids and is the perfect spot to relax and unwind with family or friends.
Extensive lake front and bush land to explore also in immediate surrounds.
Activities on offer: Swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, boating, bike riding, bush walking, feeding animals, picnic by the lake, sunrise to sunset lake walks, big swing, plenty of mown grassy areas to throw a frisbee.
Farm animals to feed and seasonal lambs to enjoy.
No Pets sorry!
Fire Pit available to relax around in the evening.
Boat Ramp at Dora Creek 8 mins away.
Adult and child kayak including life jackets are available for your use.
Or bring your own toys.
Please arrive with vehicle water tanks full of water.
Fresh water can be accessed from side of house but it is 50m from best camping spot.
Please drive slowly on our lawn to designated camping area. Quite time from 9:00pm to respect our neighbours.
Suitable for tent, caravan and camper vans with own amenities ONLY. Own toilet must be brought.
Closest dumping point is in Morisset 10 mins away.

Additionally, we have a vast 7-8 acre empty section, perfect for exploration. Amazing location and facilities. Yara made us feel right at home. We loved camping so close to the river and as it was a bit cooler, made full use of the fire pit and firewood. The bathroom facilities were fantastic and although we visited on a quiet weekend, we got the impression that even when booked out, you’d never feel crowded or cramped.

We loved our stay here. Easy to find and park. Amazing views right on the lake. Great communication. The sheep and ducks came down for a visit. Great spot to have a swim and put the fishing line in. We will be back next time we drive through. Highly recommend

Pearla little spot! Easy enough to get to, and the creek crossing was very cute start to a serene getaway, only stayed one night and was awesome, be aware that there are little leeches by the creek but are not toxic/poisonous!

Camp was nice, but a little closer to the road than we thought when booking.
The walk to the bottom dam was definitely steeper than we thought it would be, but the swim was great on a 35⁰C day.

This was our second visit to Canoelands Orchard. We enjoyed it so much we decided to book again, and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastic location, great hosts and it has everything you need on site.

A lovely stay for a night away from Sydney! We thoroughly enjoyed fruit picking and walking around the orchard. The camp spot was well kept and had a gorgeous view of the valley. It was a bit noisy from the buildings nearby in the later evening but other than that it was a wonderful time! Would certainly recommend!!

Whispering Gums has so far been the best Hipcamp site I've stayed at - it will be hard to beat. Yara is a top host, the campsites are nicely spread out on flat ground with trees, shade and short grass. The river is outstanding. firewood available on site. Will definitely be back!

We stayed at Site number 3 and it was fantastic! A spacious shady area which was private and peaceful.
Was lovely to be visited daily by 2 beautiful dogs, who were super friendly.
Nice to be able to grab coffee & a bacon and egg roll for breakfast at the on Site coffee shop.
Also flush toilet and shower available.

Mike’s place is stunning. Well kept grounds with fire pits and buckets to extinguish. Soooo much space. There were two other families there at the same time as me but still had plenty of distance between us. Plenty of trees and shade but also big open spaces. I also had internet most of the stay. For part of the trip it’s a narrow dirt road to the property with a short, steep, rocky creek crossing to the gate, but it was all pretty easy for my Subaru Forester AWD. Before the dirt road you pass through the beautiful Megalong Valley rain forest.
The gem of the place for me was the gorgeous fern lined, crystal clear creek. I spent a big part of my time there (39 degree day!). If you walk it be careful because the rocks can be a bit wobbly and uneven. It was ankle to knee deep for most of it (that would change depending on rainfall). There is also a very boisterous lyrebird who mimics every bird in the forest and reminds me of the Roadrunner because it moves so fast. The fauna and flora are wonderful. Plenty of wrens, robins, roos and a big wombat hole/home. If you look closely there’s many different tiny little flowers and orchids around 5mm wide scattered throughout the grass. Loved this place!

A lovely spot to camp in! A blood pumping walk down into the valley (and back up again!) at the start of the six foot track. Lovely place to camp, a flowing river with water, we saw ducks, kangaroos and wallabies, and many signs of a wombat! Would definitely stay again

Absolutely gorgeous campsite, nothing better than a dip in the creek at the end of a long day exploring and then listening to it as you fall asleep. Site was clean and level with a fire circle, hot plate, fire bucket and bag of kindling, toilet was functional and stocked with paper. Definitely keen to return with the family, thanks Mike!

I stayed at Emerald Park Equine for 6 nights and will come back again in the future. The view is mostly horses and cattle against a backdrop of trees with a mountain (don't know its name) in the distance. It is very peaceful with large open spaces and level parking spots. Jade and the other site staff were very friendly.

North of Sydney, Wisemans Ferry sits at the meeting point of the Hawkesbury and Macdonald rivers. Hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing are the main activities on offer in the neighbouring Dharug National Park, and to the north, Yengo National Park has thrilling 4WD tracks and remote bush campgrounds. The Hawkesbury River meets the ocean at Broken Bay, flanked by two coastal national parks.
