Weekend Trip to Crystal Creek Rainforest Treehouse

Amazing hidden spot, we had an awesome time with my two teenage boys and our dog, the site is quiet, tidy and the tree house is a dream come true. Went for a short walk down the creek, paddled on the water pond just 30 mtrs away from the house and enjoyed a fire in and out of the house. The house was neat and tidy, small but comfortable enough and having the kitchen area below and separate toilet was fine also, a hot shower in the evening was comforting also. We drove to the closest town only 15 min drive - Chilinngham that has a local pub/shop and basketball court with petrol available also, and only 30 min on our way back, we checked out the natural bridge park, which is worthed and an easy walk on a safe track for only 45 minutes. Annete and Paul were great with communication and respecting privacy. Id love to come back probably during summer to enjoy the water pond more for a swim and paddling. Thank you guys!

My Son and I had a fantastic stay at this amazing property. The campsite was right on the creek that also meant we could hear the creek flowing as we went to sleep in our swags. Firewood was very generous! Great stay overall.

Weekend Trip to Tweed Valley - Doon Doon Farm

We spent the weekend camping at Doon Doon Farm and stayed at The Family Tree site, a stunning spot right on the creek. Tim and his daughter Gemma met us on horseback and showed us to our site, which was such a memorable welcome. We had visits from cows, horses, and the adorable farm dog Bonnie. A walk through the farm added to the peaceful, scenic experience. Tim was incredibly friendly and helpful, we couldn’t have asked for a better host. Highly recommend this beautiful, relaxing farm stay!

2 nights at Crystal Creek Rainforest Treehouse

This is our second time to the treehouse and we will be back again. The kids loved exploring the area and making fires. The dog had a ball too. It's ideal for having a camping experience without the hassle of packing too much. Thankyou Paul and Aneta for another memorable stay.

1 night at Riverside Rest

Really liked the secluded location right next to the river. We were able to fish and caught so many catfish! If you stay at Site 4, make sure you don't park the car right next to the river bank, pass the camp firepit. The tide comes up high onto the grass but just touches the fire pit so our fire was fine. Camp sites were a bit close to each other but overall nice experience. 👍

1 night at Oakey Ridge

Stayed in this campsite with mates, 8 of us in the group. Area is clean and you can have all the fun you want, it’s huge. Kitchen, toilet and bath is just nearby from where we are near the waterfalls. Greg was so friendly and hands on. Toured us to all of the sites in the area. He accommodated all of our request. 5 star for him. Campsite is really good for big groups as land is huge. We will be definitely be booking this campsite again in the future.

Gorgeous spot, we LOVED it. The bath was amazing, the creek was beautiful. Road noise was so minimal. The cows and horse were so friendly coming to say hello each morning. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Christmas Creek Bush Retreat

The place is extremely well maintained (trimmed grass, clean area around the fire pit etc). Even though campsites are quite close to each other, they are very spacious and we were lucky enough we didn’t have anyone on our left and right side. Owners are super nice and the wood is cheap $15 comparing to other campsites! Oh and the little dip in the creek is nice and refreshing. I recommend

Surrounded by pristine pine trees and natives. We are roughly 15 minutes from all 3 surrounding towns Kyogle, Casino and Lismore. We are also only an hour away from the beach for any day trips planned. Great spot to stop for the night on your trip or stay for a weekend and take in the peace and quiet. We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also. Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you. Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer. More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you. No 4wding is permitted on the farm. Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals. Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival Dogs allowed on leash, please respect all the other campers on site and generators are welcome to be used but need to be turned off at a respectable time. Bungawalbin Wildlife Reserve

In 1987 I moved from Sydney to The Bungawalbin. It was nothing but bush back then but that was the attraction for me. I had been a clerk in the Dept Social Security in Sydney but my dream was to build a homestead and run some cattle. I had no idea what I was in for. I had no building skills and was in no way a handyman. There was no power, except for a couple of car batteries and 3 x 42 watt solar panels. I bought a chainsaw, a generator and a camp oven and 35 years later I am still here. I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 2 years ago the bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover.

On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

Camp Creek Retreat

In Queensland, just north of the NSW border, in the Running Creek area of the "Scenic Rim". The nearby National Park is Mt Chinghee, which is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. We have grassed valleys and forested hills, which provide the perfect setting for bush walking, bird watching, star gazing, or just relaxing. All of our camp sites are well separated from each other. If it's total seclusion and privacy you're after, "Fig Tree" and "Ridge Top" would be perfect for you. While "The Old Hut", and "Washout" are closer to the road, they are not visable to each other. Our newest addition., "The Reserve" is tucked away on the banks of a special shady grassed area with lots of room to spread out. Guests staying with us must have their own toilet/shower facilities and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. The sites are accessible for 4WD only. Get back to nature and explore. Many native animals have been spotted on the property wallabies, possums, echidnas, goannas, bandicoots, dingos, and koalas as well as a large variety of birds. Also a variety of frogs i.e.. Red/orange eyed tree frog, desert tree frog, white lipped tree frog, striped and spotted marsh frogs, striped rocket frog and stoney creek frogs. ( see how many different calls you can hear) This beautiful 200acre property in Camp Creek is part of the original "selection" by William Dimmock in 1895. It was a dairy farm, and at one stage the family grew market garden crops on a plateau high up the mountain, using a flyingfox to bring the crops down. Originally the property took in "Screw Gully" from Glenapp up to Tartar Creek Rd. In the 60's Jim Dimmick (grandson to William) sold out and the land was sub-divided. The property now supports up to 40 head of breeding cattle and 2 retired horses. Scenic Rim hosts local wineries; restaurants and coffee shops, and Mt Tamborine, all within an hour drive. Only a 1.5 hour drive to the Gold Coast.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are just an hour - a stones throw - from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. It's now a family hobby farm and a bush camping venue. We currently have two dogs, a handful of cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of (unpowered) sites, ranging from elevated with views of the valley, or closer to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley and are the preferred choice for the free range horses and cows to spend their time. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. These sites are not suitable for caravan access. LOWER SITES are closer to the creek and to facilities such as toilets, a powered shed, kettle, microwave, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. So we are able to allocate you the most suitable site, when submitting a booking request please include your vehicle make &model, camping setup (tent/swag/4WD camper trailer/caravan etc) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs) . Include your preference for an elevated or lower site (please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant). Other things to note: • Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. • We are not a 4WD adventure park.
