Eltham Station Farm Stay – Peaceful Riverside Camping in the Byron Hinterland Welcome to Eltham Station Campground, a quiet and scenic riverside retreat set along the Wilson River in the heart of the Northern Rivers. Nestled just 2km from the vibrant village of Eltham, our campground offers a peaceful, nature-filled escape with easy access to nearby destinations like Bangalow (10 mins), Clunes (a few minutes’ drive), and Byron Bay (just 35km away). Set on a private working farm, Eltham Station features 6 spacious camping sites, all-weather campsites spread along a quiet lagoon lined with large shade trees and native wildlife. The sites are well-spaced for privacy, with gravel pads, grassy areas for tents or swags, and designated fire rings (firewood available for purchase). All sites are accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles via a clearly marked gravel road. Campground Highlights: Suitable for caravans, motorhomes, tents, vans, and swags Private, spacious sites with shade and peaceful surroundings Campfire rings provided (subject to fire restrictions) Toilet amenity Abundant wildlife : including owls of different breeds , water dragons, birds, frogs and platypus. All pets welcome (please supervise near livestock) Exclusive group bookings and large farmhouse available on request. Just minutes away, the Eltham Pub is a local institution offering great meals, regular live music, and a free courtesy bus to and from the campground. For a beach day, you're only 20 minutes from Shelley Beach in Ballina, a local favourite with a great café for breakfast or lunch. Additional Info: Each site accommodates up to 6 guests Children under 6 stay free, but please notify us of total group size when booking Pets welcome, but note: this is a working farm with cattle, calves, and friendly dogs. Livestock are fenced or across the river, but guests must not approach them. Water levels in the river and lagoon may vary Eltham Station Campground offers a rare blend of tranquility, space, and local charm. Whether you're looking to unplug for a quiet weekend or gather with friends under the stars, it's a perfect base to explore the Northern Rivers. We loved camping at Eltham Station Farm. The site was beautiful . Green, well maintained grassy site with great sunset views. Being close to the river meant lots of frog and insect sounds too. Great communication by host and firewood available to purchase. Good fire pits on site.

We had our first girls-only, off-grid camping experience in our new caravan at Eltham Station, and it was absolutely perfect. The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and truly feels like an escape. Campsites are well spaced, so you never feel crowded. We loved being able to bring our pup and enjoy a campfire under the stars. The girls had the best time exploring the creek and climbing trees. We planned to use the kayaks, but games of Uno and reading books won out this time - kayaking will have to wait for next trip! This is the ideal spot for anyone wanting a genuine rural camping experience. The cows wander by, there’s an abundance of birdlife, ducks, and other wildlife, and even lizards happily basking in the sun right beside your camp chair! While we didn’t spot any platypus or owls on this visit, the wolf moon made the trip unforgettable. Thank you! We'll be back.

This is a good camp to base yourself whilst exploring the nearby beaches, less than 30 mins to Lennox Head and Ballina. Camps are set up right along the creek/lagoon and the host was very friendly and helpful. The creek was not good for swimming but there were some other campers kayaking the creek and we often seen turtles surfacing. Good permanent firepit and nice open paddocks. The entry was well signed and grounds maintained.

Flat sites on river bank, very green lush grass and roaming cattle. Hosts very approachable and very responsive. 20 mins walk to pub. Will definitely be back. Thankyou for offering your beautiful property us

We stayed at Eltham Station on site 2. Perfect spot on the creek/river, flat, grassy (was mowed). Never more than five groups at a time. We stayed 5 nights, loved the area and all it has to offer. Highly recommend and would visit again.

Awesome spot, owners are quite nice and would definitely come back again, there are ticks in the long grass so make sure your dog has a collar or oral treatment.

We booked to stay here last minute from Byron and were very happy with the experience. We were the only ones staying, so had lots of space. There were lovely views over the river and beautiful sunset and moon rise. The staff were lovely and accommodating too. Would definitely stay here again and recommend! Next time we will walk to Eltham Pub :)
