CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

(Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. Deer occasionally visit and echidnas and wombats, although nocturnal animals sometimes are a precious sight. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites. We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. we stayed at campsite 1 and the cow had 2 calves that were super friendly, our 2 year old loved waking up to them outside our camper and would watch them. the flushing toilet was clean and had a lizard to keep your company adding to the experience :) Lindsay was great and friendly there was a fair few campers around but the area was so large it felt like you had it to yourself. the weather was perfect and would come back again. thank you for sharing your property.

Nice rustic farm stay with friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful views, and plenty of space. Some road noise but didn’t affect sleep. Just note the policy on fire pits which is clear in the details. Toilets were decent and clean for long drops. Shower was a bit inaccessible having to walk across a field and there being only one for all sites. But plan around that and you’ll be fine.

I really enjoyed camping at NSW Ski Gardens. Christine made us feel welcomed and responded back and communciated promptly on the Hipcamp app. Beautiful camping spot along the Hawkesbury River. The amenities and showers were really clean. The roads were a bit windy getting there but it would worth the drive. The campsite is also close to a petrol and café which is convenient. Great spot with large well maintained open grassed area that easily accommodates large caravans, front gate was a little tight to navigate our 22.6 caravan but certainly not a problem at all, Joe was great to deal with and his instructions were clear and simple to follow. Many spots to choose from ours was on a fence line next to a road but it’s a very quiet road so literally no road noise, very peaceful location and easy access to highway. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a great stay. Made a last minute booking on a super hot day, and Katie had a lovely shady spot for us and our cat. All the horses on the property were so friendly, and not remotely put off by said cat! It was kind of adorable watching them suss each other out. No other campers, and far enough away from the house so was very private. Would highly recommend.

Closed for the Summer. Check in with us in February for an opening date for 2026. Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

Where to go

Popran National Park

A short drive from Glenworth Valley, the Popran National Park is a great day-trip destination for campers in the area as there are no campsites within the park itself. Visitors can hike, mountain bike, kayak, fish, ride horses, and spot birds and animals. The park also protects a number of Aboriginal sites and there’s a picnic area. Most roads to the park require a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Brisbane Water National Park

Just southeast of Glenworth Valley, the Brisbane Water National Park offers walks, cycling, and fishing, and has some ancient Aboriginal rock art sites. There’s a small, basic bush tent site within the park or visitors can stay at Glenworth Valley or nearby coastal campsites at Umina or Gosford and make day trips into the park. Road access into this park does not require a four-wheel-drive vehicle so this is a good option for casual visits.

Dharug National Park

West of Glenworth Valley, on the other side of Mangrove Creek (a tributary of the Hawkesbury River), the large Dharug National Park contains the UNESCO-listed Old Great North Road hike. There are also other hiking and cycling routes and two campsites. The Ten Mile Hollow Campground is small and free to stay at (although bookings are required), while the Mill Creek Campground is larger and has more facilities, and fees apply.

When to go

Spring and autumn are the best times to visit the Glenworth Valley area for hiking, biking, kayaking, and horse-riding adventures. The weather is most comfortable then. Summers are hot and the risk from bushfires is high, but this is a good season if you want to visit the nearby beaches of the Central Coast. Winters are mild but often wet, and glamping or staying in a cabin or cottage would be most comfortable.
