Property is located 8mins from the Pacific highway, 10mins from Mullumbimby or 18mins from Byron bay township pubs, restaurants and surfing beaches. Approximately 20mins drive to Brunswick heads surfing beaches or Byron surfing beaches. National parks for hiking or horse riding within 20mins drive. Can accommodate 2 horses in paddocks ($10per horse per night.) and parking space for horse float should you wish to bring your horses and enjoy some trails or beach riding in the area, I can give more information on places to ride on request. other activities that can be booked at additional cost include Didgeridoo Making workshops for adults and didgeridoo painting workshops for kids. this is a full day activity for adults and a half day activity for kids doing didgeridoo painting workshops. please enquire for more info and prices. More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you. No 4wding is permitted on the farm. Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals. Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival Dogs allowed on leash, please respect all the other campers on site and generators are welcome to be used but need to be turned off at a respectable time. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. Horse-shoe bordered by 2km of Goolmangar Creek - known platypus habitat. Secluded - but only 5-min drive to Nimbin village, the alternative capital (pop 1,600) of Australia. Sites are out of eye-shot from 'the others'. Limit of five dispersed sites across 30 acres. You'll need to Arrive Before Dark to be directed. Really, you do. Creek-sites suit experienced, self-contained campers (with 4wd) that like a bit of space. & know how to deal with their own shit. Literally. (Update: we're now in a dry spell meaning all sites are currently accessible with 2wd.) Cons: MUST check-in before dark. Camping (especially creek sites) is weather-dependent - not accessible in extended periods of rain (by 4wd, or otherwise) - but who wants to camp in the rain anyway? Sites are out of eye-shot from 'the others'. Limit of five dispersed sites across 30 acres. You'll need to Arrive Before Dark to be directed. Really, you do. Creek-sites suit experienced, self-contained campers (with 4wd) that like a bit of space. & know how to deal with their own shit. Literally. (Update: we're now in a dry spell meaning all sites are currently accessible with 2wd.) Cons: MUST check-in before dark. Campers can launch a boat from the property to enjoy all the river has to offer. You can drive the boat to the Ulmarra Hotel nearby, they have a jetty where you can park and enjoy a feed and a drink. You also can take the Ulmarra Ferry and Drive to the Ulmarra Hotel for dinner or lunch. You can access the property via road from Grafton or via Ferry from Lawrence and Maclean. Sugar beach ranch is a really special place. Right on the beach with gorgeous forest and horse paddocks surrounding. The campsite is lovely with nice shady trees, toilet and water. I took my horse for a horse stay which was awesome for sunrise and sunset rides. It’s a nice spot with a horse or without. The pool is lovely too. Hosts were lovely and helpful. Highly recommend!

You just have to check this hipcamp for yourself. The very kind host , Karen is a beautiful free spirit & so so accommodating. My wife & I stayed in the very comfy room at the end of Karen's private residence where we had our own newly renovated bathroom with soft white towels, soaps , shampoo etc...which was fabulous....also freshly cut gardenias on beside was a very nice touch. Access to the camp kitchen with full facilities & a living area/rec room was briiliant & sure makes for a great stay. Karen's surrounding garden was really beautiful...a long chat hanging over the front rail during our garden tour with Karen was delightful. Six campsites are available surrounding the ex- fish farm dams where Karen's horses & alpaca roam freely... Jalum is super relaxing...just up the road from Mooball where you'll find a beaut pub , Moo Moo Roadhouse for fabulous food , drinks & souvenirs Also popular there at Mooball is the rail trail with E bikes for hire. We enjoyed a gorgeous country drive with lush green hills crossing the NSW/QLD border from Murwillumbah through to Nerang...the amazing Beechmont Tavern was packed with punters to be entertained by back to back bands for a fun Saturday arvo/night... Lots to do in the area...even an old old railway tunnel to see on nearby Hulls Road to the Sth & just up the road to the Nth of Jalum on Pottsville Road is The Sleepy Barn where you can chill with a morning coffee or an evening cocktail along with delicious snacks/meals. 💯% score

Because of our schedule, we had no choice but to arrive around 7 pm, so we had to set up in the dark. It was raining and very windy, so it was quite difficult for us, but Greg helped us with absolutely everything — pitching our tent, putting up our gazebo, and even lending us pegs since it was our first camping trip and we hadn’t brought any. We were so, so grateful and relieved. And even though it was raining and we couldn’t use the fire properly, he still helped us light the firewood beforehand when we told him it was our first time and we weren’t really sure how to do it. That was incredibly kind of him. We couldn’t see the view properly when we arrived at night, but when we woke up in the morning, the scenery was absolutely stunning. It made us want to come back again on a sunny day — this place is truly perfect. Even though our first camping experience was quite challenging, Greg turned it into such a wonderful memory. We’re so thankful to him. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to others. Even the drive here was beautiful, so we truly, truly recommend it.

I really enjoyed staying at this Hipcamp It was my first ever time doing a solo camping adventure All the instructions on how to get there were very clear and after I set up in a great location Tom came around and checked up on. Everybody made sure everything was fine and although the weather wasn’t great I had a wonderfully peaceful night and was woken up in the morning of the resident Cows. I wished I had a booked an extra night, but I definitely will be back

We had the most incredible night at Peter and Tania's cabin! The cabin was so decked out with everything we needed and the beds were comfier than the ones at home! The dog and the kids loved the creek, we hiked and explored the paddocks :) A big storm rolled in and we all watched the lighting from the porch and all slept so cozy with rain on the tin roof! Solar shower was perfect to give everyone a wash! Beautiful property and very private, we will most certainly come back again! Peter was so easy to communicate with and made sure we were all set. Great experience thanks so much 🙏🏼

Drive thru sites if not raining We have toilet and showers but keep showers to under 4 mins due to only tank water here plus we have a great camp kitchen and depending on how many people here a fridge and freezer to use Pets allowed but only on leashes full time only zero off leash at all i have baby calves and don't want to see them hurt or your animals hurt either. Zero tolerance in drugs but happy enough if you want a beer or wine unfortunately I have to state zero tolerance of drugs or drunken behaviour. We do allow fire pits but not during summer, windy times. But only in a fire pit bring your own fire wood.

Pitch your tent or drive in your camper van in a secluded area with lots of trees and natural environment where birds can wake you with their morning songs A beautiful stroll to the nearby river is a wonderful experience as you explore, swim, canoe, Kayak or float down the river (1.2 klm) in the beauty of nature around you. You can even throw a line in and you might catch a fish. There is a lovely covered platform you can sit on as you reflect. If you are quiet enough you might see a platypus or two or catch a fish. Once your booking has been placed, if you do not hear from me within ten minutes, please give me a ring on the provided phone number.  Please note: The road is a dirt road, please check local weather prior to arrival, ground may be soggy if it's been raining recently.  When it rains, some of the areas may get muddy. Please reach out to Host with any questions about this.  There are walking tracks or bike riding for kids, if you have a horse or pony you can bring them along too. How about a game of outdoors skittles or spot the native plants, pick a citrus fruit or maybe spot a wallaby, echidna, possum or laugh with the kookaburra's. There is a natural stone campfire where you can sit at night or meet other campers, or just to sit and gaze at the stars. Tales of the past might be spoken if asked. You can hear the night birds and owls. If you are lucky you will see fire fly in the right season. A great place to relax, spend family quality time together, uninterrupted by technology and you relive the Shalom-peace of nature, making memories that you will keep for a lifetime. The little quaint villages that surround Federal are great for a visit. If you want the best sushi in the area then stop at the popular Doma Cafe next to the general store in Federal, you will want to visit more than once after your taste buds have been awakened. Byron bay is a 15-20 min drive on a scenic drive, or visit the biggest little town in Australia Mullumbimby a 15-18 min drive. Bangalow and Lennox heads, Lovely beaches at Brunswick Heads or Ocean Shores are all within 35 min drive the choice is yours. Magical Minyon Falls with its powerful and wonderful waterfalls and uninhabited valley is a must. Don't forget to go bushwalking while you are there. There are also other national parks like mount Jerusalem that are close by. The farm does have orchards and bee hives. Slashing and planting of vegetables will be happening soon everything is organic. If you would like to purchase some organic farm jam just let me know. The stone wall entrance was constructed at the turn of last century and you feel like you have stepped back in time as you imagine those who came across the area as they were amazed at what the area had to offer. Remember it is the Australian bush so there could be snakes just. as there is with all bush in Australia about depending on the time of the year. There is a first aid kit on the property. The local hospital is in Byron 15 minute drive away. A toilet is completed. We have had a celebrity stay for a weekend so you never know who you will see. There are celebrities that live in Federal so you may bump into one. Please do not show up to the property or surrounding areas without placing a booking and receiving directions. If you arrive without placing a booking, you will be turned away. Please use the directions sent to you after placing a booking to stay at this property. If you arrive on a Saturday, as it is the busiest of days for us, the times for meeting is 6pm. Every other day is flexible with time for meeting. Please still add children to the booking (you will not be charged) so we can keep on top of guest numbers. You're welcome to bring your furry four-legged friends along to camp too, but please ensure they do not hassle the livestock or travel across the creek, we have neighbouring properties all around us. Please feel free to swim in the creek wherever you please and you are most welcome to walk up the creek to adventure.
