Morinokoe is a 5 acre 'one planet' lifestyle vision, set in the peaceful, secure, rural residential community of Woombah, bordering the Bundjalung National Park and just 5 minutes drive from famous 'Woody Head' camp ground and Iluka's surf beaches. For paddling and fishing, it's a few hundred metres from a public jetty to the Clarence River and just a few minutes drive to the Esk river (a unique waterway that tracks through the national park). The land itself is 2/3 natural forest, with fruit trees and permaculture inspired garden design and cleared areas with space for parking, playing and camping. The property includes two separate bases for holiday stays: 1) Retro Caravan (morinokoe-ko) The (two room) caravan is basic, but newly renovated with a covered roof allowing for a large outdoor patio area, covered back deck, camp toilet. basic kitchen equipment (cooking on your campfire). There is one power outlet supplied to the caravan, but lighting is provided by solar lights around the site. Access to power is provided at the main house. There's access to a toilet, shower (cold water) and drinking water supply. There is a Jamie Oliver grill for cooking at the table, and a fire pit on hand as well. There are basic cooking implements, cutlery and crockery as well as a large green water tank for washing and drinking. 2) Modern 'eco' house A large (486 m2) open area with an upstairs, fully fly-screened, mezzanine area (lockable) with 3 bedrooms (queen, king single and single). Downstairs there is a dining table, a kitchenette with kettle, toaster, induction cooker (and cookware), a deep bath tub, outside shower area and composting toilet. Drive in to undercover parking and enjoy the (covered) outdoor lounge area around the fire pit. There's easy access to the large veggie garden to pick fresh herbs and greens for your culinary creations! Morinokoe is a place of peace and privacy that provides a balance between convenience, security (friendly neighbourhood) and accessibility and the peace and quiet of being deep in the forest (where you can walk or ride your bike straight into the national park). We have rubbish and composting facilities. Pets on leashes welcome.

This site is situated at the base of The Helmet, a culturally significant woman’s mountain. Come and pitch a tent or swing in your camper. The site is in its early beginnings, as we are converting an open paddock into a nursery and food forest. The two campsites are all situated close to the dam. There is currently no amenities so you need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. Cabin is private and fully self contained with cozy combustion fireplace for winter, A/C unit and/or fan for summer, fridge, 2 burner gas cooktop, basic kitchen equiped with cooking/dining utensils, tea and coffee provided, hot/cold water, kettle, toaster etc. shower, toilet, laundry and bathroom is seperate to cabin but located just metres away in the homes luandry and second bathroom with external entry door from porch patio. bathroom / luandry may be used by myself and other house member however we do also have another private bathroom in main house for our use. private outdoor hot shower out back of cabin in spa/bar grassed area. Under cover parking next to cabin for one vehicle (further vehicles can be parked nearby within 10 metres not undercover.) Behind cabin is a private 4 person hot tub/spa under the stars with spa/bar and bbq area and outdoor campfire all for your exclusive use. hot outdoor shower next to spa. If you care for a short walk down to the creekside tent site then your welcome to enjoy the creek swimming hole n rainforest walk through surrounding areas, this area may also be used by tent campers if they are here. There is a fruit orchid with mostly citris and some tropical fruits which may or may not be ripe depending on time of year which your welcome to pick and enjoy, all this is a few hundred metres walk from the cabin. fresh farm eggs can be supplied free of charge. The cabin is best suited to couples who want to explore byron shire for surfing, horse riding, food and culture or perhaps just site seeing and then have a quiet relaxing private space to come back to after a day out, or would also suit couples with up to 2 children (under 12.) (cabin is only 8x6 metres so not a huge indoor space for 2 kids and 2 adults but loads of space outside to enjoy!) 2 kids under 12 are allowed and pull out single bed mattresses and bedding is provided upon request. families can enjoy a relaxing hobby farm experience n see the horses, collect fresh duck and chicken eggs, possibly spot a koala as we get them often, heaps of possums and other native wildlife passing by to see and hear. Property is located 8mins from the Pacific highway, 10mins from Mullumbimby or 18mins from Byron bay township pubs, restaurants and surfing beaches. Approximately 20mins drive to Brunswick heads surfing beaches or Byron surfing beaches. Board racks for surf boards provided. National parks for hiking or horse riding within 20mins drive. Can accommodate 2 horses in paddocks ($10per horse per night.) and parking space for horse float should you wish to bring your horses and enjoy some trails or beach riding in the area, I can give more information on places to ride on request. The 4 person hot tub/spa out back of cabin is lovely under the stars and moonlight after a big day out exploring the area of Byron shire. Delicious home cooked meals can be provided delivered to the cabin for additional costs please enquire. I enjoy gourmet game meat farm style cooking and Italian cooking, I have a history of working in commercial kitchens as a cook. other activities that can be booked at additional cost include Didgeridoo Making workshops for adults and didgeridoo painting workshops for kids. this is a full day activity for adults and a half day activity for kids doing didgeridoo painting workshops. please enquire for more info and prices.
