Our two eco-friendly domes sit on a 120 acre property providing a unique experience with a sense of space and privacy that helps you disengage from the everyday.
Access to water and solar power on site.
There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single.
There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ.
There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together.
For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include:
Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes)
Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes)
Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes)
Eltham Hotel (15 minutes)
The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes)
Bangalow Markets (20 minutes)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this.
This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water.
Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day.
There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler.
Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road.
You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region.
Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway.
In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

We had a really enjoyable stay overall. The domes were peaceful, unique and a great place to switch off and spend quality time with the family. The setting is beautiful and Jane was a very kind and responsive host throughout our stay.
On our first night we did lose power, but Jane was extremely helpful and guided us thoroughly over the phone while her husband talked us through resetting the inverter. We were able to get the power back up and running pretty quickly, which we really appreciated. It showed great care and support from the hosts.
One small piece of feedback was around the fire pit area. When we arrived there was quite a bit of weed overgrowth around the space. We actually took it upon ourselves to clear it out to make the area cleaner and safer, especially after a brown snake passed through the area on our first night while we were sitting around the fire pit. Being in nature you expect wildlife, but keeping that area clear would definitely make it feel safer and more comfortable for guests.
That said, Jane handled the feedback with genuine care and professionalism and even offered a goodwill refund, which was a very thoughtful gesture and not expected at all. Her hospitality and communication were greatly appreciated.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would happily return again in the future. A great spot for families wanting a peaceful nature escape with their kids 🌿🔥

Weekend Trip to The Meadow -Byron Hinterlands Domes
We had a great time glamping in this dome, despite the weather being pretty average.
The dome is very spacious, so we did not feel cramped or boxed in like we might have hiding out from the rain in a regular size glamping tent.
On the down side there was not even a rug inside, and the outside mat was drenched, so we had to use our own towels on the floor to dry our feet coming inside.
The rain does get in a bit, which is probably why there is there is just a bare concrete floor. The skylight is a cool feature but unfortunately you can barely see through it and the panoramic window is also made of plastic, so it does hinder the views a bit, maybe more in rainy weather.
Still there is plenty of space, (a lot more than our rooftop tent!) and you have it all to yourself, so we can't really complain.

We had an awesome stay at Riverbend Retreat. The campground is set right above the river, with the water literally running just below the site, which makes for an unreal backdrop the whole time you’re there. The river itself is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, relaxing, or just sitting back and taking it all in.
For anyone into fishing, this spot is a winner — there’s some cracking bass fishing right out front, especially early morning and late arvo. It’s one of those places that feels peaceful and secluded but still has everything you need for a great camping getaway.
We’ll definitely be back 👍

Cannot stress enough how great this place is.
Waze did try and steer us incorrectly but you can see where you need to be and get there easily.
Camp-site is a nice size patch beside the river which easily fitted out party of 10 adults 6 kids and 3 dogs. With an undercover picnic table and fire pit.
We even spotted a platypus feeding in the rapids near the swimming hole
Overall a great long weekend had by all

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. The camp-site and amenities are well maintained. The river (currently low) and kayaks (additional hire) we are huge hit with our family. We have our own inflatable kyak and row boat but loved hiring the ones available to have our own.
Our first trip not bringing ANY firewood but there was plenty available to purchase.
Host is very friendly and approachable when needed but also respects your space. A++ Host.
Lismore(local town and shops) is a short drive away. Small city with most things you need if forgotten or if issues arise.
We plan to return!

We spent two nights at Riverside Bend and left feeling completely renewed. There is something incredibly regulating about this spot; between the gentle stream, the birdsong, and the afternoon sun, the rest of the world just melts away. It’s hard to believe such a private, quiet sanctuary exists so close to Byron and Lismore. We spent our days swimming, swinging, and soaking up the silence. With no road noise and total privacy down on the riverbank, it was the most joyful way to welcome in the New Year. Fresh, peaceful, and highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek
We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

We have never stayed at a hip camp before, so weren't sure what to expect, but pulling up to Kate's beautiful property we were blown away! It's location by the river and cows was perfect, the access directions were clear, and we were quite pleasantly surprised and grateful for the amenities provided, including extremely clean portaloos, plenty of firewood and a bin of 'commonly forgotten items' which we definitely needed! The covered picnic table and fire area was an added bonus too. The ground was nice and flat for our one tent and one swag setup, and hearing the birds and bugs in the morning was definitely a highlight for our visiting Canadian friends! Thanks for sharing you place with us Kate!

What a fantastic spot. Felt like we had the world to ourselves. The river was fantastic to cool off. Massive storm came through and Kate came and set up a Marquee for us. Always on call and always incredibly helpful. We had the most magic Christmas!
