Wayne was very nice and personally led us into the retreat. There were not that many campers and the portaloo was very nice and clean! Happy to stay again and the area was really nice and secluded where we stayed!

This was our second stay at the Elsie’s beautiful property and we had a wonderful time, again! The Coral Trees site is perfect for us, alongside the burbling creek, and plenty of all-day sunshine, great for recharging our Vitamin D and our camper’s solar panels. All of the sites were occupied (it was Easter long weekend), but the sites are so well spaced, we felt as though we were there by ourselves. Love bringing our dogs with us. Plenty to see and do in the region, but we were happy to enjoy just “being” and soaking up the beautiful location. Thank you, Elsie. Hope to visit again soon.

Weekend Trip to Jamberoo Mountain Farm Camp

Beautiful spot overlooking the valley — we were lucky with the weather and got to enjoy a stunning sunset followed by some amazing stargazing at night. Super quiet and private with breathtaking views, exactly what we were after. There was also a lovely horse on the property we got to say hello to, which was a nice little bonus. Natalie was super helpful and communicative, and all the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The surrounding area was great too — we hadn’t planned on visiting Jamberoo Action Park but ended up going on a spontaneous trip there, which was a fun surprise! We also really enjoyed the local cafes and nearby town. The site is priced a little higher than others we've stayed at, but considering the location, privacy, and stunning views, it felt like a worthwhile splurge. We were aware of the lack of amenities (no toilet, water, or fire pit) before booking, and were mainly after the view — which absolutely delivered.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at the truffle farm. The farm animals were friendly and an extra excitement for the the kids. Perfect location not far from the pub and the river and perfectly peaceful and quiet. Tricia was an exceptional host and took the time to show us around and explain all about truffles. Portaloo was very handy- Just remember toilet paper and your own water to flush! Sites had beautiful picnic tables and fire pits. Looking forward to returning.

2 nights at Little Forest Farmstay

I was looking for a site I could wind-down and enjoy a rest. Where I could take the caravan in without having to squeeze it in like a sardine, with nice views. And this was the place for it. The creek flowing constantly provided a relaxed background. Plenty of sun for the solar panels at this site. Located within 10 mins of Milton and the beaches, and 30 mintues of Mt Bushwalker/Florance Head walking tracks in Morton National park. Elsie was very nice, and her dogs were super friendly. Will return with the dog next time I need to chill-out.

Weekend Trip to Buxton Getaway

I recently stayed at ‘The Buxton Getaway,’ which was perfect for a quick overnight trip. The location is under an hour from home and close to some fantastic bushwalks. Setting up was easy, and the site was relatively secluded, which was great. We enjoyed the fire pits and the peaceful surroundings. It was a little difficult to find the entry and access but we got there in the end. Overall, a great spot for a short stay, and I’d definitely consider going back!

If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. 'Elouera Vale' Farm

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Yerrinbool is 1 hour from Sydney and a great spot to spend a weekend away, 15 mins from Bowral and 10 mins to Mittagong There are animals on the farm including ducks, chickens, goats, sheep and sometimes even baby cows. The property does need a little clean up but the rear of the property is nice and tranquil. We are directly next to the HWY so sometimes there is road noise, but it's a great location for an easy stopover. Easy access for caravans, keeping in mind the weather as like in all areas it becomes soft when wet. Please note, while we do permit more than one car per site booking, we only allow 1 caravan per site. So if you are in a group with more than 1 caravan, you will need to book multiple sites. Any questions, please let us know. We have Fire Pits in key locations around the farm PLEASE DO NOT move them as they signify each spot for camping. They have allocated spots and we do not need them moved. We also have a toilet in a small cabin close to the house for people who are using tents and water if you're required to fill your tanks or rinse off. We have two dams with yabbies you are welcome to collect. If you do collect some please be respectful in the amounts you collect and also throw some raw meat and or frozen veggies like peas and corn into the dam to provide food for the others to grow. Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.
