We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek. We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy. As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot. It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world. Now it is here for you to enjoy, to reconnect with your dreams, to dive deep into your childhood playful memories where the world of fantasy and reality merge together. We have now been to Traveller's Rest twice, and loved it both times. The area is flat and grassy and backs on to a creek. There is alot of birdlife to watch with neighbouring farms of cows and a horse to observe. Leanne keeps the camp ground mowed, the shower is spotless and the 2 porta-loos are always clean. It is effortless camping not far from the GC.

We stayed at the Glamping Tent and had such a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the time relaxing and enjoying the creek. There is mostly everything you need in the camp kitchen (4 plates, stainless steel cups, 4 of each cutlery, pots and pans), gas cooker, basin with running water, some coffee and tea. There were 4 chairs and loungers with an umbrella to enjoy the view over the creek. There is a composting loo and shower in the same area. If you are more than 4 people, then recommend taking extra eating utensils and chairs. We took a kayak and SUP board and paddled down the creek to the low bridge which was awesome and went over some rapids. Expect it to take around 2hrs to get to the bridge and have someone fetch you. Can highly recommend this spot. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Absolutely perfect. The staff were lovely, helpful. Loads of room on the pitch, and for the price, its amazing. Good showers, pool, and more. Beach access, and pretty close to town. Cant wait to go back. The only thing that wasn't good, was the coffee from the little coffee truck, sorry, but one of the worst coffees we have had in aus.

Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property.
