Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

We are located 40 mins from Newcastle ,20 mins from Birubi Beach Anna Bay the northern end of the 32 km long Stockton beach which is well known for its giant sand dunes and great surfing, you can also go for a camel ride while you are there ,it's 30 mins to Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay which has several beautiful beaches and great restaurants.
Next door is Oakvale Wildlife Park and close by is Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters and Go carts Go. A boat ramp to the Tilligerry river is 2.5 kms away which is a great area to fish and kayak .
Popular bushwalking tracks are also nearby.
Our local shops including a Bp foodworks, bakery, bottle shop, fruit and vege and Take away are 2.5 km away.
Also close by is Murrays Brewery and Sunset Vines both with great food, wine, beer and weekend entertainment.
We have a flushing toilet.Tank water is for onsite usage only and we ask that you are conservative with water usage.

Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months.
We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area.
FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. The established green 112 acre equine property has the Watagan Mountains as the backdrop. We are approximately 5 minutes off the M1 Motorway and 1 hour drive north of Sydney.
Whilst on property it’s a buzz of horse life and there are many horses in the paddocks that will be curious to see you and hang over the fence for a nice little scratch. You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive.
If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick!
While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask.
If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Download the National Park App and it will give you all the info.

At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites.

There is an abundance of native animals here including bandicoots,kangaroos, lyre birds, lace monitors, platypus and more! Access is via a short dirt driveway to the riverfront camping area. The access is 2wd unless there has been significant rain it becomes 4wd access.
We accommodate the larger groups
just steps away from the river. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with
shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area .
We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers.
We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.
We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any pets

Next door is Oakvale Wildlife Park and close by is Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters and Go carts Go. A boat ramp to the Tilligerry river is 2.5 kms away which is a great area to fish and kayak .
Popular bushwalking tracks are also nearby.
Our local shops including a Bp foodworks, bakery, bottle shop, fruit and vege and Take away are 2.5 km away.
Also close by is Murrays Brewery and Sunset Vines both with great food, wine, beer and weekend entertainment.

If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Campfires are not permitted due to fire restrictions. Pets cannot be accommodated, as there are animals living on the property. Please take all rubbish with you; the site is fully self-contained. Leave nothing behind. This is a tenanted property with a farmhouse about an acre away, so please only contact the numbers provided with queries. Your camping space will be private and undisturbed.
The Property:
The property features multiple spring-fed dams with abundant bird and aquatic life, located very close to your camping space. You can walk along the ring track of the main dam. The camping spaces are clear, spacious, and limited in number to provide privacy and comfort for your stay.
Services and Amenities:
A service station and hamburger takeaway is just 500 meters from the property, offering fuel, food, essentials, public bathrooms, and water. It’s within walking distance or less than a one-minute drive.
Location & Attractions:
The property is centrally located for local attractions. Wisemans Ferry is a 10-minute drive away, offering pubs, cafés, shopping, swimming, fishing, recreation, and a boat ramp on the Hawkesbury River. Historic convict trails and scenic drives are nearby, along with roadside stalls selling baked goods and local produce. Seasonal “pick your own” fruit is available in the area. Glenorie village is 20 minutes away, with shops and healthcare services. The region features many local rural farm businesses and is just a one-hour drive from Sydney city.

This property is a Pristine Riverfront property in Colo Valley. It is a tidal river with sandy shallow sandbars and 10ft deep swimming holes. There is an abundance of native animals here including bandicoots,kangaroos, lyre birds, lace monitors, platypus and more! Access is via a short dirt driveway to the riverfront camping area. The access is 2wd unless there has been significant rain it becomes 4wd access.
We accommodate the larger groups
just steps away from the river. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with
shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area .
We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers.
We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.
We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any pets
Additional activities here include fishing, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing & birdwatching. We are also only a
5 minute drive to Colo Riverside Cafe.

Great spot. Paddocks were a bit wet so put us up on the concrete near office overlooking dam. Margaret was very welcoming. Came over for a chat at the end by of the day to thank us for staying. Highly recommend.

What a gem! Amazing hosts Yara and Greg have set up their newly purchased parcel of Upper Colo along the banks of the Colo River perfectly. Rustic amenities in a shipping container with a vast grass open space spotted with well established trees providing the perfect camping shade spots and plenty of sunny areas to charge the solar panels. Several short tracks lead directly from your camp to the river where the water is fresh, child safe shallow and flowing gently, perfect for a relaxing lie-low along the river.
Large campsites so everyone had their own type of New Years Eve fun without effecting the neighbours. Easy accessibility by caravan, car and camper within close proximity to Sydney but remote enough to unplug and relax.
