Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass.
So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you.
Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole.
The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike.

Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground.

3. Zero impact to the land and surrounds treat it like you would a national park.
4. All waste must be bagged and taken off site with you.

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent.
The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding.
Fresh drinking water and a pit toilet is available at the shed .
Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life.
There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

I moved here from Sydney in 1987.
In that time I have seen many changes.
I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey.
Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast.
5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead.
The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting.
Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter.
The billabong is perfect for canoeing or paddleboarding and normally flows for up to 9 months of the year.

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent.
The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding.
Fresh drinking water and a pit toilet is available at the shed .
Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life.
There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

I moved here from Sydney in 1987.
In that time I have seen many changes.
I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey.
Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast.
5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead.
The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting.
Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter.
The billabong is perfect for canoeing or paddleboarding and normally flows for up to 9 months of the year.

Cameron was an accommodating host and super knowledgeable of the area.
Amenities were much better than expected, including, chairs, table and the river with kayaks provided. Make use of the spotlights at night to keep animals away

We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone wanting to camp at Evans Head. The site is spacious and very well equipped, with a clean and practical shower/toilet block. The bonus shed provides extra shelter and extremely useful kitchen facilities, including a fridge, kettle, microwave, and fan.
The kids loved making a fire and cooking on the fire pit, and the surprise extra was being able to swim and kayak in the dam, with kayaks provided on site. It really is a fantastic little spot to camp.
The most outstanding part was meeting Cameron, who is a very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly host. We would highly recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Enjoyed our time, beautiful scenery, close to beach in Pottsville. Creek at this particular time (Jan 2026) was not flowing well enough that I would like to sit in to cool off as the cows travel through and I just didn’t feel comfortable. Found the instructions a little overwhelming, lots there to read and understand. All common sense with respecting others property. I would recommend, to tick off your list but we won’t be returning as there’s so much out there to see. Found price quite up there, I assume due to being highly rated. Thank you for letting us enjoy your property.
