The Little Creek Retreat is conveniently located 1km north of Lithgow town centre at the end of the road nestled at the bottom of the valley near a pretty little creek. It sits next to the heritage state mine which you may view and have tours on the weekend.
We have 1 cozy site with outdoor seating and cooking area fire pit for up to 6 people. Feel free to pet our miniature goats. They are very friendly. Please ask before feeding them!
Camping toilets are available for use.
Local kangaroos sometimes drop by. Plenty of wildlife with kookaburras, parrots, currawongs and even a shy wombat. Mini goats are sometimes on the property as well.
There are many amazing local bush walks and plenty of fascinating history and things to do.
Space for 3 cars, tent, caravan or trailer 10m x 4m wide clear flat area with easy access next to outdoor seating.
2 minute drive to cafes and shops and town centre, bus stop is 100m, train station 800m. We are conveniently close to town.
Lithgow tourism centre has plenty of information and activities to do. There are scenic lookouts, climbing, canyoning, bike trails or simply relax with great eateries and historical sites.
Cooking fires are permitted when there are no RFS bans in place.
Note: You will need to completely extinguish your fire before you depart. You may collect water from the creek.
It is ok to collect fallen kindling, no chain sawing of trees. Wood is provided free of charge for small fires only. If you use the kindling please play if forward and collect for the next person. If you need more wood simply message me.
There is a camping toilet with toilet paper and hand sanitizer supplied.
Well behaved pets are welcome and we encourage you to keep your dog on a lead if they are likely to adventure too far from your site and disturb the local wildlife or other campers. No cats as there are many native birds.
Please take all your belongings and rubbish with you when you leave.
If you are interested in free accommodation, we are open to exchange labour as they is always plenty to do on the farm.

We are working small family farm only 5 km north of Orange and home to the Williewarrina Poll Hereford Stud. With an ample vegie garden, we are happy to supply you with some of our in seasonal produce, fresh eggs and home made bread for breakfast.
We offer only one spacious camp site at a time with stunning views overlooking grape vines to the east of our farm. If the weather is a touch damp - which it is inclined to be in winter in Orange - we can offer you the shelter of our very large hay shed. It will easily fit a caravan and vehicle with room to spare. It will keep your gear dry and your camp site cosy. After a busy day of visiting the vineyards of Orange you are able to relax around the campfire, whether you're camped under the hay shed or not, and take in the serenity.
If you wish, you can accompany us on a cattle experience with both our herefords and highlands, feeding and grooming them (weekends only). You are welcome to try your luck in our dam if you have your own fishing gear.
Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, as do our neighbours, so please keep them under control.

Wonderful location with a stunning view. My friends and I loved it! Instructions were easy to follow and both the sofa bed and main bed were comfortable to sleep on. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed. There were also many other small bits and pieces provided that made our stay extra comfortable (camping chairs, books, etc). The unsealed road may be a little tricky to navigate but we managed to get there in our Hyundai i30.

Nice spot just outside of main town! Geoff the host was lovely, always up for a chat and had great local knowledge. The site was perfect for our stay! This spot is perfect if you're up for some adventure, whether that's natural or some old local buildings. The site was a little closer to other houses than I thought but that was no issue!

We loved the Highland Cow experience and also paddle boarding on the dam.
Sam was so welcoming and made sure we were well settled and comfortable.

This is our second trip to Nos Astra it is perfect getaway for my birthday. I love being off grid and being able to “camp” in comfort and not need to bring everything.
Clean comfortable tidy place. Has most things you need, John’s instructions were very detailed and helpful. We drive a Mazda 3 and take the dirt roads with caution but road is accessible.
I love the view, the quietness and this year missed out on the star gazing thanks to the overcast clouds.

We had a great New Year break over 4 nights with 4 families (including 7 kids), staying at the main middle campsite. Highlight was definitely the wildlife - so many platypus! (be very very quiet, look at dawn and dusk, on any stretch of the river with deep still water - they are everywhere!). Also echidna, wombats, loads of roos and wallabies, and I counted >20 bird species. But beware, on hot days also many snakes (we saw a Tiger, a copperhead, and multiple red bellied black snakes. None were interested in us, and just doing their snake thing).
We had mixed weather with some drizzle and a big nighttime storm, and it was cold the first 2 nights - we had brought wood and kept the fire going through the day. On sunny days the river was lovely for swimming and messing about in with inflatable. not full enough for kayaks over any distance. We brought bikes and the kids roamed around and explored, and we did a lot of fishing - more contemplation that catching.
The cabin is about 400m from the camp ground, so we mainly based ourselves at camp and cooked and ate there, walked up to the cabin for the loo and water. The BBQ at the cabin was welcome, and the rainwater tank and loo (bring loo paper). Solar and hot water we had issues with - its an old system and needed re-setting at least daily, and we had to call Tom to get access to the control board. There is a stove (bring ignition) and some old crockery, pans, cutlery etc available but we didnt need to use.

Our stay was only an overnight stay but our host was fantastic and we very much enjoyed the home baked sourdough bread that was available. All in all a very pleasant experience and happy to recommend them on.

We found our campsite without any problem using the directions provided. It was quiet, clean and had convenient amenities. Geoff is warm, friendly, knowledgable and very happy to share information about his place and the surrounding attractions. The miniature goats are very friendly too, especially if you have a little fruit/veggie treat for them!

We stayed here over New Year’s Eve and absolutely loved it. The cabin is beautiful, with large windows and stunning mountain views that make you feel completely immersed in nature. We slept incredibly well, it’s so peaceful and quiet. With a lovely walk down to the water, and we were lucky enough to see kangaroos during our stay. It was deeply relaxing and exactly what we needed to reset.
The cabin itself has a really lovely feel to it. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom and shower are great, and everything is thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay.
One small note for future guests: let’s all take a little extra care to clean up after ourselves, so this special place and beautiful cabin can be enjoyed by everyone.
Highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

Our experience at Nos Astra was beyond expectations! It was just what my partner and I needed during the Christmas break as we were able to disconnect, take in the peace of the nature around us whilst enjoying the convenience of everything Nos Astra provided! John was an amazing host - responsive and his guides and Google maps links were amazing and took us on a very beautiful hike to the bridge close by! Would very much recommend Nos Astra to anyone looking for a breathtaking escape ☺️

Tom's property was incredible. We loved the peace and privacy it offered, and the landscape was beautiful. The cabin is well equipped with kitchen utensils and a gas stove for those that want to cook indoors. A flushing toilet and shower was very welcome for the young one in our group.
There's no reception when you're on the property, but you should be enjoying the tranquil outdoors whilst you're here! The road in is okay for regular cars, but take it slow as there are some ditches you may have the manoeuvre around. A 4WD or higher car would definitely breeze through it.

My family and pup had a lovely stay at Trout Valley farm. The property was gorgeous and covered with tiny white daisies when we visited in Summer. We stayed at the site with a backdrop of a large clifftop. It was incredible to have the whole property to ourselves! We enjoyed swimming and kayaking down the river. The cabin was also super helpful as we were struck by heavy rain on our trip and we were able to bunker down inside and play board games. The cabin had everything we could need - gas stoves, seating for our whole party of 8, Pots and pans, utensils, mugs, kettle, camping lights, and a number of pull out sofa beds (although we did sleep in tents the option was there). The wildlife was amazing! So many roos and birds. Awesome to have a flushing toilet and sink to wash hands and mum and dad got a hot shower in the morning! As the electricity ran on solar we were reliant on camping lights at night. Tom also provided a nice fire pit to sit out and enjoy the fire.
