Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

It was a windy weekend but we were well protected . The animals were friendly and the highlight of my daughter’s stay . Our dog had a great time , for her first camping trip. The host were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again . Very peaceful and quiet , just what we needed . A short walk to the river to a beautiful location .

Gorgeous view, perfect for an overnighter with my kids. Sunset was beautiful. Had water at the site, even though we’d brought our own, and Sarah was great. Very welcoming and even took us around the farm in their 4x4. Kids loved it, slept like a log and would highly recommended for an overnight stay.

This was our second time staying at Jarabin - it’s one of our family’s favourite HipCamps. The property is beautiful and quiet, and we ordered the BBQ pack again which was brilliant. Instructions to access the property are very clear and easy to follow. Although the weekend ended pretty wet, the weather held out long enough for a post-dinner swim in the river with the sunset in the background. Pretty close to perfection!

It was a stunning location. It had one of the clearest rivers I have ever seen. We felt completely secluded in our own private oasis. The kids loved waking up to the sound of the cows mooing on our doorstep. There was plenty of wildlife to view and plenty of space to explore. Anthony gave great direction and also met us at the gate to guide us to the camp-site. He was a great host and even provided plenty of fire wood.

My wife and I had the most relaxing weekend here! 🌿 It’s so peaceful — no noise at all, just the sound of the creek flowing and birds singing. 🕊️ We even found lots of wombat burrows nearby (sadly didn’t spot any this time.) 😅 The owner was super nice and friendly — even pointed out an eagle far away with his amazing eyesight! 🦅 Can’t wait to come back again. See you next time! ✨

We had such a beautiful stay at Burrendah at two tree camp site. Sarah was lovely meeting us at the gate on arrival. The property and views were stunning. An easy 25-30 minute drive from Canberra it was the perfect balance of busy tourist days and relaxed country evenings. We extended our stay from 3 nights to 4!

Great campsite! Greeted by host and shown to our site, beautiful panoramic views. Thunderstorm rolled in as we arrived, which added to the excitement. Great creek close by to cool off in on a hot day. Excellent for overnight escape from Canberra. Good solid firewood was provided as well, which kept us going the whole night. Well recommended.

Great spot to camp. We normally camp by the river but in future, will stay here instead. Lovely to wake up with mobs of roos around and its family friendly and more secure than free camping down the road. Highly recommended for families who want to spend a few days panning without the worry of rangers and undesirables by the river. Lots of beautiful farm animals as well.
