What’s 15 minutes from Atlanta and full of outdoorsy fun? …Panola Mountain State Park, of course! Bask in the abundance of outdoor recreation, without having to plan a massive road trip. The hardest part will be choosing how to spend your time. There’s a playground for the young (and young at heart—when was the last time you tried the monkey bars?) archery, boat rentals, geocaching, orienteering, and even tree-climbing programs (umm, sign us up for that one). Trails run through the forest, and there’s a paved trail that’s great for biking, roller blading, dog-walking, and casual frolicking. Don’t forget about Panola Mountain, a 100-acre granite outcrop that’s absolutely pristine.
