Florida Caverns State Park
Explore a whole new world underground in one of the Florida state parks!
The star of this area after you pass the park entrance is the caverns. You can take a guided tour of this underground world any day with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. Gaze in wonder at the otherworldly sight that awaits you.
Your guide points out stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, and draperies as you move from cavern to cavern. They also point out the chisel marks left behind by the Civilian Conservation Corp who widened the walkways.
Six miles of trails are ready for you to hike or bike in the woods by the Chipola River. In the summer, enjoy the Saturday night campfire programs led by the rangers. Six picnic areas make it a snap to dine al fresco on the fish you caught in the river.

The 35 campsites here all have water and electric; most of the sites also have sewer hookups for RVs (three sites are tent-only, the rest are for either form of camping).
