They say Virginia is for lovers, and nowhere is this more true than at the private cabins you can rent within Jefferson National Forest. Blue Springs Gap Cabin is one of the more rustic of them, with no running water for drinking or showers, but three bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and flushable toilet. Heat is provided only by the large stone fireplace, so your crew may need to have a sleepover in the main room at night. Your crew can take turns cooking dinner on the grill, and relaxing on the porch swing to take in the gorgeous Appalachian peak views at this mountain-top spot (it feels a little like being on top of the world). There’s no A/C here, but Hale Lake is a two-mile hike away, and great for cooling off on a muggy afternoon.
