Past trip
Madrone Tree Hill
in Madrone Tree Hill, CaliforniaStayed at camp site 1 and were grateful for all the tree cover as it was 90+ most days. Wasnât as private as we wouldâve liked but everyone was hospitable and the services provided (sinks, Potro potties, wood, board games) were above and beyond. The resourcefulness of our host and all the local attractions were terrific. Visited sly park for kayaking and hiking and dipped into slab creek for extreme refreshment. The camps are well apportioned with 2 chairs and all the fire pit necessities (grill, brush etc). Would consider other sites here w friends but for just my wife and me it was a good overall experience.
Past trip
in Camp WagMore, CaliforniaStayed at site 3 for the weekend and it was perfect. Warm sunny days and temperate evenings. Both mornings were pretty wet but no issues at all. Very private site w a couple trails to wander. Got a visit from a local dog during day 2 and he couldnât have been sweeter. Heard turkeys hollering all around us day and night- pretty amusing.

Past trip
Mossy Bench Camp
in Mossy Bench, CaliforniaGreat camp spot. Very spacious and well kept. Camping underneath the redwoods with access to a beautiful pool and all the amenities. Thereâs even a hidden trampoline- why not? Itâs a legitimately functioning farm to table b&b so embrace the rooster calls!!

Past trip
Cowhand Room at FlipJack Ranch B&B
in FlipJack Ranch, CaliforniaWonderful bnb!! Robin is a terrific host, amazing chef, and all around intriguing character. She provided a quick tour of the property that included an in-depth explanation for the farm raised chickens and rabbits. Our room was small but sufficient for our two night stay. Luxury touches like nice linens and high end soap add to the charm of the estate. Beautiful property, serenely quiet with a useful hot tub as the swimming pool was still too chilly. Great fire pit to commune with the other guests or just your date. We used the ranch as a home base for some excellent wine tasting and hiking in the mountains while still in striking distance of all the dining and entertainment that Santa Cruz/Capitola offers.
Cody hasn't gone on any trips yet.

Site 2 - Baby Banana Slug Farm
in Baby Banana Slug Farm, CaliforniaBeautiful setting amongst the redwoods. Our party of 5 camped at site 1; #2 was vacant fortunately as theyâre certainly within earshot of one another. We could hear people on adjacent properties and our host was unnecessarily concerned about our level of noise which was unfortunate. Ample fire Wood was provided which was nice and we burnt all day during a rain storm. Still a good trip and when the sun reappeared in the late afternoon it was magical. This site was ok and is probably a better fit for 1-2 people that donât need trails to explore. We traversed the property and itâs pretty just limited in terms of space.
WagMore (site #3--Oak Grove)

Redwood Camp #1
in Salmon Creek Ranch, CaliforniaWonderful experience. There are 3 sites in the same proximity and my large group (11 adults) were set up in a legitimate redwood grove. Fortunately for the nearby camp (which was probably 90-100 ft from our fire ring) the trees seemed to block the sound in both directions.
There was wonderful hiking on the property and via the mercantile on property we feasted on fresh duck eggs and fresh beef links. Beautiful escape.
