The hosts here were so kind and receptive. My daughter and I were looking for a great escape from Los Angeles. The property is continuing to be developed, therefore a few places felt a little bit junky. There are app. 10 old RV's and campers on the property that aren't being used - empty. Perhaps they will be rebuilding them as a part of their AirBB. The campsite is quite open. Not a lot of privacy. A few have views to the old campers. We found a little spot tucked away, which was nice, yet our neighbors had no other way around us except to walk right through our campsite. The hosts were very kind, though, and offered us to pitch our tent wherever we wanted. We did have to park a little ways away from the site. Luckily we had a cart to load all of our things. The campsite has a beautiful little kitchen area, nice bathrooms and lovely showers. There are also little "cabins" that are super cute, but small (for two small people). We enjoyed the pool, which was clean, but had quite a bit of broken toys and noodles around it. There are other kind people who live on the property longer term. The most annoying thing - so, so many gnats and bees. Kind of ruined our stay a little bit because it was so hard to relax. That, of course, is not the fault of the Hipcamp.

Past trip
in Cross Bull Ranch/CBR, CaliforniaLisa was a wonderful host. Prior to arriving she contacted us various times to ensure that we knew directions AND what we could do in the beautiful Topanga area. Upon arrival she greeted us and gave us the "lay of the land." As we were the only campers that evening, she allowed us to even change sites, which suited us best (a small tent and a small campervan). Lisa has beautiful communal tables and night lanterns. Very cozy. She also has heat lamps available, which we did not need to use. There is also a propane fire pit for use.
Lisa's property is beautiful with hiking trails and a field of beautiful grass and some areas with magical history. The birds were amazing, especially in the morning. The bathroom and shower are shard with Lisa in her home. It was clean AND beautiful. In the morning she had windows open to her beautiful home - the kind of home I would love to live in.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to hike the trail. The town of Topanga, though, is one of my favorite in all of California. Even after we had left, Lisa gave us ideas of what to do in the area. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. And the crow - loved him. He just added character to our entire experience.

Site 1 - Enchanted Forest Retreat w/Showers
in Campground, CaliforniaJessica's land is in a gorgeous redwood forest. It is lovely. Upon driving into the campsites, the trailers are a bit of an eye sore (across from Site 1) but as you go further the sites are lovely. I stayed in Site 4, next to a grove of redwoods, shaded and beautiful. I was alone in the campsite so noise was not a problem at all. Lovely, clean showers. Thank you!

Harmony Ranch Boondock by the Barn
in Hills of Harmony, CaliforniaDestiny was an amazing host! I had a beautiful charcuterie board upon arrival. Roamed the pastures. In the morning enjoyed a great cup of coffee and breakfast! I do think that the price is a bit high for a camp spot with few amenities. Town of Harmony is amazing, charming and cute.

This was such a fun trip and such a unique and cool place to stay. The Burning Man bus is amazing - as I lay there at night I thought "this bus has seen things!" I can not tell you how beautiful the views from this location were - I was so glad to know that these places still exist. Great kitchen, bathroom, comfy bed. Thank you.

in Redwood Retreat: Camping & Cooking, CaliforniaAmazing chef, soaring redwoods!
Our family spent an amazing week at Mima and Scott's beautiful Hipcamp over Spring Break. Communication with Mima was so smooth and she responded immediately. We were in Site 3. There was room for 2 tents and the site was provided with a sheltered area, which proved very necessary in one day of rain. We also had our own fire pit, chairs and a large table. The community area feels magical with moss covered rocks. The kids had fun using the dart board. Washing dishes was easy as a sink was provided. Now to the best part - Mima's cooking. Wow! Every other night we ordered Mima's meals after a day of hiking and being out. It was WONDERFUL. Our favorite was the chili. We also had divine chili and a breakfast skillet. We celebrated our son's birthday there and Mima made it very special. Scott and Mima's Hipcamp also offers to purchase firewood ahead of time, which was wonderful. All of these amenities made our camping trip a bit easier and smoother. Also - it turned out that at night the temperatures fell to about 38 degrees at night. Although we had great sleeping bags we rented, at a nominal fee, blankets and pillows! Hot showers, a refrigerator and microwave were wonderful extras. Mima and Scott - thank you so much for making our trip wonderful. We will return again!
