The vibe at Campsite @ Rune Hill Sanctuary
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Joseph has a super nice camping set up at his place. It's actually the absolute perfect set up for tent campers like us, we were totally comfortable, and he was completely helpful and kind.
We set up our tent in an open field and had a gorgeous view to ourselves, but we were also able to share a kitchen with other campers. The kitchen had all the basics we needed to make and then comfortably eat our own meals inside the screened in structure. Kitchen was definitely a highlight for us. Also, having a shower and bathroom separate from Joseph's private house made for comfortable bathroom usage. Sawdust pit toilets were free from flies and smells, and shower was in a cute little hut of its own. Because of the hot water heater, the flow of hot water wasn't strong, but Joseph told us about that and gave us some tricks to have a constant hot shower. It was fine and I enjoyed my showers. Joseph also kept all areas stocked with supplies and tidy.
For you phone addicts, we have AT&T service, which didn't work at all, just so you know. Joseph has Verizon, which does work.
Our only bummer was that we never had a chance to fire up the sauna and explore the trails. There's so much in the Ithaca area to explore that we just didn't have time.
Would return to this place any day, and recommend it highly!
