Description

Who says Congress never gets anything done? These scenic, 59 miles of unchannelized Missouri River are untamed and open for recreation, thanks to the 1978 Scenic River Act! Explore the Lewis and Clark Trail, or photograph the awe-inspiring bluffs of the Missouri River. Dense woodland means plenty of wildlife, songbirds, and bursting flora. Fall asleep to the sound of the wind over the river and the calls of the whippoorwill and tree frog. Ponca offers some seriously epic wildlife viewing—don’t let the sights of the Missouri River or the refreshing cool of the local pool distract you too much, or you might miss the sight of a buffaloberry or a bobcat!
