Description
Savanna Portage Campground is a large, developed campground on the banks of Lake Shumway. Bring your canoe, or rent one here! Take a hike along the Savanna Portage Trail, and you’ll be in good company—this historic trail was used more than 200 years ago by fur traders, the Dakota and Ojibwe Indians, and explorers. Hikers should also check out the Continental Divide Trail, which leads past the rolling hills, lakes, and bogs of the park, and up to scenic and forested vistas. Bring your camera!
