“Expansive,” that’s the sole word we’d use to moniker Lake Sinclair Recreation Area. Inundated by the area’s fifteen-thousand-acre namesake lake, water-loving activities are presented by the bucket full alongside the area’s comely kept-up beaches. Able to accommodate your next Eagle Scout junction or just as large family reunion, Lake Sinclair Recreation Area is at the ready with ample space. And, with its dozens of first-come, first-served campsites, you and your guest can easily spend the night there.

Sweet, decently-kept car camping site. There are sites with and without hookups available (sites without hookups are tent-only). I like to go in autumn, when the camp is lightly populated and cooler.

One correction/clarification: As a US Forest Service campground, pets are allowed (on leashes) most everywhere here; however, they're not allowed on the beach area, which is clearly marked.
