Retro Star Ranch is safe and secluded.  We have 25 acres of land at the end of a private road in a secret hidden valley not far from SLC, Ogden and Eden Utah.  This land is pristine and connected to over 5000 acres of undeveloped open space.   The property is part of a recreation property subdivision.  You might see some fellow campers on quads, occasionally you might hear gunfire,  but you're more likely to see deer, fox, grouse, birds of prey, moose and possibly elk.  Not far from Causey Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ogden River both of which have great water for floating and fishing.  We have a metal fire ring on site and a 30 ft geo dome which is great for hanging hammocks in.   We don't have a lot of trees so bring your hats and shades.  Mornings and late afternoons are beautiful.  One of the few places where in the area where you can really hear the silence.

Getting Here:  You can successfully get here in a sedan with creative and slow driving when dry but not recommended for sports or low clearance vehicles.  If you have 4x4 that is better, especially if you want to venture to our last campsite or pull a trailer here.   There are some tight turns and We've pulled a 30' foot trailer but the road is skinny in places and the turns are tight, bumpy from cobbles and ruts and often have puddles. There is about 2 miles of dirt road that climbs over a ridge. If you're adventurous and a confident driver on dirt roads you will have no problem. If it's you're first time pulling a trailer or if you have a low clearance then this is probably not be the spot for you.

Great place to get away and relax in peace and quiet! The dome was fun to play on and sit under and the view was incredible. A little difficult to get to the spot but once we found it we were good to go. Highly recommend staying here if you love being away from the city life.

Wow, what a place to camp. There are other campsites on the land, but they are quite far apart, so you don’t feel like anyone else is around. Just gorgeous, sprawling green hills and mountains. This site is pretty exposed, so bring extra layers because it gets very cold at night. Would recommend at least having AWD in a small SUV because it is bumpy and rocky for a good mile to get to the site.

The property is awesome! Just far enough away to be really camping but close enough in case you need something. The dome is awesome for hammocks (just make sure you tie them around the connection points of the bars). the platform is a perfect spot for a tent and gives a solid space for cooking. Would 10000% percent stay here again!

This camp site was beautiful and so amazing to stay at. You have space and nature all around you. You’re far from street lights so the night sky was gorgeous to see.

This is a beautiful, CLEAN, site. The leaves were changing and the views spectacular. We had two trailers and three dogs but still enough space to have quiet time without being on top of each other. We didn’t see any wildlife and the puppies were off leash the entire time.

As we went during the first week of October, there were hunters on the ridge line every morning and evening, but we only heard a few shots. Bring your bright clothes and keep dogs close if you go when we did!

The distance to the left turn off the paved road is 1.8 miles. If you’re dragging a trailer and don’t want to find a turn around point, that’s important to know. If the paved road ends and becomes dirt (at 2.5 miles), you’ve gone too far. My friend had a 25ft trailer and made it fine. There were some creative maneuvering moments at the site, but she was comfortable and level.

If I’m back in the area I will definitely return!

My husband and I booked this stop as part of our two week roadtrip across the country. The location of the site was difficult to find but Bryan was super nice and easy to work with!
