(Dispersed site)
This is simply space to set up in the middle of nowhere. It's about a half hour-ish off of the highway - definitely out there. I don't recommend arriving after dark - you'll have a hard time finding the spot. It feels as close to the solitude of wilderness backpacking as you can get with car camping, IMO. I camped near some sculptures and a shipping container - I hope that was the right spot! Not too much else around, any way. Definitely make sure you have a lot of gas before you head out this way. There are no services anywhere nearby. Small gas station in Montello 40 mins away is only open 9 - 5 (or maybe 6). I stayed one night and it was cold, but easygoing. I came back again the next night to record some sound in the sun tunnels (didn't stay overnight) and there was a wild wind and dust storm. So - be prepared to potentially sleep in your car. Sun Tunnels are magical and worth it!
Past trip
Glamping -Ocean view site #3
in Slug Acres, CaliforniaSuch a perfect stay - the tent is cozy and warm and the bed is very comfortable. Perfect for when you want to be outside but you also want to sleep well. The location is gorgeous! Definitely recommend. I will be back.

Soaring Trees Singing Creek Retreat
in Singing Creek Nevada City, CaliforniaPast trip
in Karen Câs Haven, CaliforniaComfortable and super convenient to South Yuba River State Park. Nice to have access to the bathroom and even a little fridge out by the pool. Campsite is partly enclosed by bushes and feels pretty private. Hosts were warm and welcoming and I had an easygoing stay. If Iâm around here again Iâd stay here again - itâs a good find.
Past trip
in Windy Hollow Farm, CaliforniaLoved our time here - wood and starter stuff supplied for the wood stove in the cabin, lots of great details, comfy bed. Kitchen cabin has everything you'd need to cook, and everything is just lovely. Was surprised to find out it was on the back side of the B Bryan Preserve - that was an odd and unexpected delight. Wish we could have stayed longer.
