COVID Updates: The yellow cabin is available for rental on its own or with the red cabin for shared households/social bubbles (see our Windy Hollow Farm Camping Retreat listing; red cabin is not available for renting on its own); we kindly ask that guests follow face mask and physical distancing protocols in local businesses and on public lands/beaches/trails. Cabins will be vacant for a minimum of 48 hours between guests. Windy Hollow Farm is an off-grid educational farmstead. Our farmstay cabins are hand-built with simple amenities. The yellow and red sleeping cabins are located in close proximity to one another and share a kitchen cabin. Each cabin has an outdoor composting toilet, and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot water is located a short walk from the cabins, near the main farm house. The kitchen cabin is equipped with a cookstove and mini-refrigerator. The yellow sleeping cabin has a woodstove and firewood is provided. There is a queen-sized bed downstairs and a full-size folding futon in the sleeping loft. Families with small children should note that the cabins are next to a small pond. The cabin is cozy and best suited for individuals, couples or families with small children. Groups of 3+ adults (depending on sleeping arrangements), or families with older children, might want to consider reserving both sleeping cabins. Parking is approximately 300' from the cabins; a marked trail leads directly to the cabins and a wagon is available for schlepping stuff.

We absolutely adored staying in these charming cabins. We were a group of five, so we rented both cabins, easily sleeping two in the loft of the red cabin. The cabins were warm and clean, the beds comfy, with nice pillows. Each cabin has great windows and a wood burning stove. If it's too cold to be outside, you can still enjoy the scenery. The yellow cabin even has a skylight in the loft, so you can fully enjoy the starry night sky!
The property wasn't difficult to find from Highway 1. Upon arrival, were greeted by a beautiful friendly dog who liked to follow us around. We unloaded our gear in the wagon provided and set up for happy hour on the picnic table as the sun got low. We went back into town for dinner of clam chowder and fish 'n chips right along the pier. After dinner, there was enough space and seating in the yellow cabin for us to all sit around the table together with the fire going.
We made eggs and coffee in the morning in the kitchen, which is well-equipped with plates, cups, utensils, and pans. By the time we were done, it was warm enough to eat on the table outside. We even had a chance to walk some of the trails and check out the outdoor shower, pizza oven, greenhouse, and chickens. My only regret is we didn't have time to spend the morning relaxing and taking in the beautiful property.
Lovely place! Beautiful and clean cabin. A lot of character. Very friendly hosts and a great off the grid location. I would 100% recommend to a friend, and looking forward to my next stay there!
We had a great stay at Windy Hollow Farm! The cabin was perfect and such a great place to spend the night. Jennifer was a great host, gave us great directions, and made sure our cabin was all set up, including firewood and lanterns : ) We loved it and would recommend to all. Thanks again!
The most picture-esque little cabin that there ever did be! Two can fit in the loft bed (which has a sky light), and another two can fit in the main bed. The wood stove came stocked with kindling and logs. There's also a communal "kitchen cabin" with power outlets, a stove, a sink, and a mini fridge.
Windy Hollow is a 2-minute drive from "downtown" Point Arena, which has coffee shops, a bar or two, and a market.
We'll definitely be back!
Beautiful quiet cabins. I was lucky enough to experience both of the. Jane, Ben and Jennifer we super helpful. I would highly recommend these places. The location is great very nearby Point Arena, great hiking, and beaches. Super chill spot. I will be back! Thanks all for hosting me.
Windy Hollow Farms offered more than I expected! Not only was the farm beautiful and true to the pics, but Jennifer was so very gracious and accommodating! We arrived pretty late but everything was thought of, from the directions to the waiting wheelbarrow, the lanterns and the fresh produce basket I requested... it was all waiting for us when we arrived! This was also the most comfortable bed on our whole road trip! My only wish was that we had more time on the farm!
