Past trips
Shenandoah Valley MTN
in Shenandoah Valley MTN, VirginiaNice spot with a great view. Definitely a little rough of a drive. My outback made it pretty easily so as long as you at least have awd you should be ok. Bring a tarp to lay on ground as it can be pretty muddy. Very quiet and peaceful. Host was good about giving clear instructions/directions.
Barnum Cliffs Tent Site 1
in Barnum Cliffs Campground, West Virginia250 Acres Remote Forest w/ Trails
in 250 Acres Remote Forest, West VirginiaBooked last minute and luckily stumbled upon this site. The host Kelly was out of town but was still very accommodating every step of the way. Even went through the trouble of making videos showing me the area and how to get to camp! I stayed at camp three. Tucked away, very secluded and peaceful. Definitely need 4wd to get there but I assume if the hosts are home they can get you there on their utv if need be. A great way to spend the holiday weekend. 10/10 definitely recommend!
Glacier Mountain Camp
in Glacier Mountain, ColoradoFantastic site with amazing views! As previously stated 4 wheel drive is a must. I made it with a stock chevy Colorado only scraping a couple of times on rocks. Was a bit nerve racking for a firts timer overlanding like myself. Site is private with just the occasional atvs or dirt bikes going by on the trail. You really feel like youre on top of the world. Directions were as decscribed although i was lucky to have my gps continue to work all the way to the site. If i ever come back to Colorado ill look to stay again.
