Past trip
in Peaceful Prairie Campsites, NebraskaMagnetic nebraska experience
This campsite was spectacular. A Diamond in the rough. We were in the canyon spot and had terrific views of the bluff. The portajohn was the cleanest weâve ever seen and the water from the aquifer was cold and delicious (and we had no qualms hosing ourselves down after a day of hiking in the hot august sun).
The land has a magical, powerful feel to it and the stargazing was top notch.
Lisa is an amazing person and is very hospitable and kind. Sheâ a great resource for local history and things to do in the area.
A note to future campers in the summer months - bring equipment for shade and make sure you have appropriate long sleeved clothes - the sun is intense and the landscape is full of plants that can scrape, poke, slice, cut etc.
All in all - well worth the trip and will definitely return.
Past trip
in Red Fern, ArkansasWe camped in #1 and it was great. There are numerous springs/swimming holes around the site and theyâre all great for swimming/soaking.
Note to future campers - the area is covered in poison Ivy, so be aware when hiking. Also - there are a lot of water snakes but they are not poisonous. They will swim away from you if disturbed BUT if youâre at all afraid of snakes, this spot may not be a good fit. BUT if magical healing cold spring swimming holes are your jam, this place is perfect.
