Past trip
in Spirit Walk - Private Retreat, CaliforniaJohn has a truly great plot of land full of oak trees and natural terrain. It is within a short distance of two very small towns with a handful of antique stores, a great museum, Isabella Lake and dam, and the Kern River. We made sure to check out what the area had to offer, and the little cabin provided a great retreat. Our first night there was a thunderstorm out of the blue, and it was amazing watching the lightning clear as can be from the loft window. This was between 80° days, and even after a few heat waves this year the stream on his property had not yet run dry. While there may not be amenities such as a refrigerator or television, the relaxing ambiance was well worth the trip.

Past trip
in A-Frame Bliss, CaliforniaThe cabin was a great stay for a peaceful and secluded anniversary trip. As soon as we walked in it felt very homely, reminiscent of a down to earth grandparents house (without the funky smell). The amenities we were most grateful for was the well stocked kitchen, large master bed, air conditioning, and tucked away bathroom. We had never been to PMC, it is definitely more of a village than a town. Every local we encountered greeted us and the shopkeepers were very welcoming. While there we took a hike through the Woodland Falls Trail, which was a little unkempt but a great adventure scrambling up a stream to see a waterfall surrounded by berry bushes. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
Past trip
in Grey Oaks, CaliforniaThe site has all the great amenities you'd need for camping but on a smaller and more private scale. Full of shady oak trees, nights with chirping crickets, and the occasional deer and turkey. Close to many local attractions if you're from out of town, or a nice nature retreat if you want away from the city. Zak was helpful, offered great extras, and we had a wonderful time.
Past trip
in Murphys Mini Farm Stay, CaliforniaIncredibly thoughtful space
Upon arrival in Murphys it was easy to find the location, Barbara was very warm showing us around, and the cabin was well prepared for our stay. You can tell when someone really cares about providing a nice place to stay, and Barbara has put a lot of work into this site. The donkeys were friendly, there's a handful of local attractions, and each night was a long deep sleep. This is a perfect place if you want to enjoy some time down to earth in nature, but still want household amenities. The only thing we wished for was another day of vacation here.
Meagen hasn't gone on any trips yet.
