The property is gorgeous and the access to the falls is an incredible asset of this property. The forest was logged years ago and it was fascinating to see the progress of the new foliage taking root. Lots of conifers, alder and sapling big-leaf maples everywhere! River access was great. Dogs are welcome which is my only requirement. Iām accustomed to primitive camping so was quite comfortable. There are no picnic tables at the sites so bring a table. Sites 12 and 8 are barely walking distance to the Porto-potties, and itās steep on the way back. I ended up just driving to the potties when nature called. Overall, Iād recommend to folks that are willing to trade some of the amenities of state campsites for the natural beauty of the river and falls.

Sagi was very friendly and there to greet and get us settled upon arrival. The site was really beautiful. There's a small stream near one of the sites that is just paradise at sunset. There was ample space to set up camp and Sagi brought down a small metal fire ring and some extra fire wood for our marshmallow roasting pleasure. The property is 30 minutes from Lake Quinault in the Olympic National Forest so that was the main draw.
It is rustic camping so bring a shovel to dig a latrine and plenty of water. Due to water proximity, there are some bugs so bring some spray or other detergent if that is of concern to you. The property has some domestic pigs that roam. They're super cute, but don't leave anything out when you're away from camp.

The Bender Estate

(Dispersed site)
Bender Estate was in a beautiful area near Corbett, OR, 5 minutes away from Dodge Park on the Sandy River (there was closer access, but it was a little more tricky). The camp site was spacious, flat and in a nice glade of trees. There was a nice pathway to the site from the road. Parking is not real close to the site, but Robert allowed us to park on the side of the road near the trail to make unpacking easier. The campsite had a couple amenities like a platform for the camp stove, and a tent with a compostable toilet (not glamorous, but handy in the middle of the night). Robert and his partner were very welcoming and even delivered some water jugs in the evening. The only drawbacks were a dirt road that ran just 20 feet or so away from the camp; not a busy road but occasional traffic. Also, there were a couple of vacant tents pitched at the campsite when we arrived for extra gear and such. We didn't need them so they just kind of made the site look less pristine than it actually was. Overall, neat site with nice hosts a lot of potential.

Cedar Arms Campground
in Skokomish Valley, WashingtonCedar Arms was wonderful. Tom is a first rate camp host and made sure we had everything we needed. He also gave us the lay of the land and was able to recommend some great activities in the immediate area. It's literally down the street from the Olympic National Forest! Will definitely be back!

Amazing property! Know there are no toilets as of May 2017. River access is a little tricky; no trails to speak of. Rustic camping with lots of potential.
Mark hasn't gone on any trips yet.

in K & M Tree Farm, OregonMikk was there waiting when I arrived on the property after a beautiful drive from Portland. He got me oriented and set up the toilet tent while I got my car. I was able to drive right up to the camp spot which is nice b/c I bring the kitchen sink. The view was striking. I got there about an hour before sunset so the beauty just grew and grew. Then when I thought the show was over, the stars came out! Just a perfect site to watch the sunset and stargazing. Next meteor shower, I am going to be here.
There's a compost toilet in a tent, garbage drop and I'm sure Mikk would have let me fill up water had I needed it. It's up on the ridge so it was a little windy; luckily I brought a jacket. I had a great night and plan to be back.
