Great option for a quick get away that’s not far from home.

When what was planned to be two nights, turned into three, I knew my pup Sasha and I found a new favorite get away place.

It’s a great location to hole up for a few days and do nothing, or… if you want to venture away for a hike or into town, there’s plenty to see and do nearby as well.

We stayed at camp for the most part but the few times we left the property the following were the places we made it to… Sylvan Valley Lodge and Cellars; Smithgall Woods State Park-Laurel Ridge Trail, Jumpingoat Coffee and Tantrum Brewing.

For provisions, there’s a grocers, dollar general, and Walmart all within 10-20 min proximity to camp.

The first day we arrived was pretty rainy, and Elizabeth was beyond accommodating in pointing out which camping location would provide the most covering.

On the second night we shifted to the open field… it truly was a beautiful spot to set up camp and enjoy the surroundings.

The Rustic Roost was just what we needed whilst on a road trip. The whole space was beautifully put together from craftsmanship to decor… the hosts were above and beyond.
