A nice place to stay and access the Black Canyon and small towns in Western Colorado. Hosts were very friendly and gave me excellent recommendations on places to fish the Gunnison nearby. If you're looking to access these awesome places, then this Hipcamp makes for a good base. If you stay in the summer, just know that the whole area gets hot! Having never traveled to that area of Colorado we were not expecting the heat to be so intense. Overall, it was a great place to stay. We had fun playing with the baby goats and the dogs that roam the property.

in 500 Waves on the Llano River, TexasThe site was great! We had a great time there, even though we camped through the strongest wind and rain I ever seen. River access is great and Jason was very communicative keeping us updated with the pending severe weather and other details of the site.

The Goat Pens campsite was amazing! My family was the only one staying for the weekend (second weekend in October) so we had the entire place to ourselves. We enjoyed exploring the property and having a campfire each of the two nights we stayed there. Jeff met us at the gate and escorted us to the best spot on the ranch for car camping. The place is just right around the corner from Terlingua Ghost Town and Big Bend National Park. In my opinion, the two greatest aspects of the Goat Pens are knowing you have a spot reserved, and having a campfire. Good luck reserving a campsite in Big Bend. We drove through the Chisos campground, and while it was beautiful, tents were set up right next to one another and campers had zero privacy. At the Goat Pens, we had complete privacy and knew we had a place to stay. We will be staying here any time we visit the Big Bend area.
