BACKCOUNTRY CAMP AREA
in PTC (Closed), CaliforniaGorgeous star viewing!
This place was perfect! It was the hipcamp we've been hoping for. The drive to the site definitely needs four wheel drive with large ruts in the road but it helps make you feel secluded. Once you make it to the sites they are well marked and each have a table. There is a porta-potty as well and communal area with fire pits. The stars were absolutely gorgeous and site 2 makes you feel on top of the world.
Sunset Paridise
in Blissful Retreat, CaliforniaShangri La Push
in Shangri La Push, WashingtonPerfect home base
The host had excellent communication. He texted during the day and right when we arrived had someone ready to show us the available options for tent sites. There was wifi which was awesome and a bathroom area with a sink, shower, and flushing toilet. This location was perfect to explore beaches (we hiked on Rialto and had breakfast at First Beach) as well as to explore Olympic National Park and the Hoh rainforest.
