Past trip
Cedar Grove @ Lo Tahoma
in LO TAHOMA, WashingtonSuch a cool camp site and host! We had tons of fun. Little slug friends and a light morning rain set the mood. Definitely recommend!
Past trip
in Rogue River Retreat, OregonThe Rogue River is our favorite stop as we travel through Oregon and Kevin and the family never let us down. Cute rooms with lots of charm and an amazing property to explore. Super cool!

Past trip
Secluded Vineyard Walk-In (Site 3)
in Yosemite Garden Camp, CaliforniaGreat views and lots of fun!
This was a unique and fun stop. As people have noted, you'll need a vehicle with decent clearance to get up the road to the site. And if you are in site 3, make sure to go all the way down to the end of the vineyard and open the gate to get to the site. This was a little tricky to find in the dark (totally our fault for not timing the drive properly), but it wasn't too bad. The site was clean and we were especially happy with the restroom facilities. Lots of fun all around!

Past trip
in Slow me Down Ranch, ArizonaAwesome secluded desert experience!
What a unique and wonderful place to experience! "Off Historic Route 66" is a bit of an understatement ... this location is quite a trek down a dusty bumpy road well off of the main highway. We couldn't hear the main road from camp if we tried ... just the wind rustling the desert trees and some friendly wildlife. The sky at night was unbelievable! For geologists and rock hunters, this site is paradise. This is as rustic and 'off the grid' as it gets, though - so pack in everything and pack out everything (as described). Donna was SO cool and helpful (along with her rescue dogs that greeted us). Totally recommend.
Past trip
in Pinyon Pine Yurt, UtahWe really thought the Juniper Yurt was cool. The stars at night were insane! Great stay that is midway between 'roughing it' and a fancy glamping cabin. The drive to get to the site was actually really neat, too -- just off the beaten path (with some dusty roads), but easy enough to locate.

Mini Forest Cabin 1
in Grace E.’s Mini Forest Cabins, WashingtonFun little night away!
This was a nice little secluded night away from everything and juuuust the right amount of 'roughing it'. The cabin was clean and well-stocked and the surrounding area was cool. Easy to grill up dinner (brought out our cast iron skillet and supplies) and woke up to the birds (and a few chickens) as we wrapped up and headed back home. Host was awesome - recommend for sure!

Juniper Yurt Escape
in Pinyon Pine Yurt, UtahFun and secluded place
We really thought the Juniper Yurt was cool. The stars at night were insane! Great stay that is midway between 'roughing it' and a fancy glamping cabin. The drive to get to the site was actually really neat, too -- just off the beaten path (with some dusty roads), but easy enough to locate.
Site 6
in Mountain Top Getaways, IdahoGreat getaway for sure!
This place is insanely cool. We had such a fun time driving up the windy and hilly path to our site (#6). We had a small SUV with decent clearance and it was dry out, so no issues there. I'd imagine that in the wet or winter months you might have to have an SUV or truck to get up safely - it really is a 'Mountain Top' as described! The site offered insane panoramic views of the surrounding hills and down into working farms in the nearby valley. Definitely recommend if you are cool with just a tent and packing in all of your own supplies. Loved it!
Mountain Dreams
in Montana Guest Ranch, MontanaFun and comfy cabin
Trina was an awesome host and the Mountain Dreams cabin was super neat. The view from the cabin porch was perfect and we had a nice roaring fire outside in the fire pit / barrel that took some of the evening chill off. Everything was nice and clean (and even wrapped in Saran Wrap!) and the bed was comfy. Ps., if your GPS guides you to an old cemetery ... you haven't gone quite far enough down the frontage road. I guess Apple Maps frequently does this, Trina got a kick out of hearing that yet another Hipcamper had been sent to the cemetery first! :-)
