Jana B.doesn't recommend this listing.
A glorified junk yard being masqueraded as a HipCamp and movie set. They say itâs a movie set, but the only movie I see being filmed there is âBreaking Bad.â (See photos)
Not sure how anyone makes it out of there without rusty nails in their tires. To that point, if you still go, make sure you and your children have your tetanus shots. Old boards with rusty nails are all over the property, as are dozens of dilapidated trailers, some in pieces that could prove danger zones for children.
It really is a shame because it could be such a cool spot and some of the people who work there are nice and hardworking. But itâs inherently creepy, run-down property with what I perceive as lots of ⌠side hustles. I found the place intriguing as a former investigative journo, but would NEVER take anyone I love here.

Past trip
in Terra Vivus, CaliforniaRemote, private, and beautiful. The sunrises, sunsets and stars were incredible! We had a great time!
Shared the fire pit and had a lovely time getting to know our camping neighbors, Lance and Carlene.
Only thing Iâd say is that the desert isnât kind to pup feet, so if you take your dog stick to the dirt areas and away from bushes and burs.
The place is rustic, but well tended. And Mason is both communicative and kind. We love it!
Past trip
"Large Marge" the hippy 44' bus
in Ability Ranch Camp, CaliforniaFunky and beautiful getaway!
The bus is funky, fun, and comfortable, the property stunning, and Grace and Donna are the absolute best! They made us feel incredibly welcome!
Say howdy to Jeremy the horse, who is gentle and hilarious.
We also highly recommend taking a drive to the nearby dam. (Itâs BEAUTIFUL!)
We canât wait to go back!

Vista Under the Pepper Tree
in Vista under the moonlight, CaliforniaThe Bernanator (mini schnauzer named Bernie) and I didnât even use a tent, we slept under the stars⌠and it was lovely! This place really is an oasis in the city.
As a woman traveling alone with a geriatric dog who has no teeth, I like to feel as safe as possible. I slept remarkably well here! Carole is a gracious hostess who makes guests feel comfortable. 5 out of 5 stars!
