Past trip
in Creekside - Kolob Gate Gardens, UtahWe arrived on the later side which was no problem, Matt came out, welcomed us and gave us instructions on how to get to the site. He was also selling bundles of wood with tinder/ kindling which was a nice touch. The hot shower is a bit of a hike from some of the spot, but the hot water mixed with the spectacular views was unbeatable. Best part about the entire site is itâs only a short drive up the road from Zion.
Past trip
in 500 Waves on the Llano River, TexasAmazing place to stay only 10-15 minutes from downtown Llano and about a 45 minute drive to Colorado Bend State Park. The direct river access was amazing and the patio, grill, and restroom where great additions as well that made the camping much easier. Little to no cell service which was also a plus.

Great place to stay, plenty of spot to set up at. With a perfect view of the night sky. Expect to be woken up by the cows in the pastures near by. Would recommend having a vehicle that can handle being off road, but if there has been no recent rain you shouldnât have any issue driving a car to the spot.

Do not expect a lot (you shouldnât youâre camping) but itâs well worth it; plenty of trees for cover or hammock camping and itâs literally 2 minutes from Luchenbach, TX. Less than an hour drive to a hand full of beautiful small towns with wonderful meat markets and a minutes drive down the road to a fresh produce store, you wonât have to worry about any grocery shortages. Rain or shine these site are the absolute essence of hill country living. Iâll definitely be back.
