in Grizzly Peak Ranch Glamping, ColoradoReally pretty spot with a mountain view. Clearly marked and a pretty easy drive w/ no mud. Ben was super responsive and friendly over text.
Past trip
Freedom - #1 HipCamp NM
in Shanti Community and Retreat, New MexicoThis is a beautiful spot with an amazing view of the mountains and stunning sunset. I'm glad I chose the volkswagen as it has more evening ventilation than the buses. Fellow travelers in camp were cool and friendly as well. There were a lot of bugs at sunset so bring bug spray if you don't want to be bothered.
The ride there is a little bumpier than advertised, I was fine w/ 4wd. Smaller vehicles can definitely make it if you take it slow but just be aware there are some bumpy, steep sections.

I had a great time here! Kevin is incredibly friendly and welcoming and meeting him was one of the highlights of my cross country drive. The site has a great view and a friendly cat and dog running around. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.
Just be aware if you're driving from Cloudcroft or nearby, Google Maps will lead you through a long dirt road (Indian Service Route 10) . When I went it had just rained and it was a little slippery for my comfort even with 4wd. It's a beautiful drive and there are wild horses on the road but I would make sure to go the longer way if it's recently rained or if you're not confident in your vehicle.
Past trip
in The Jester King Inn, TexasThis is a cool spot with tons of amenities and would be great for a group! Light sleepers should know there is some evening noise from the brewery's fans or coolers or something. Also be aware jester king is only open wednesday to sunday, so don't count on it for dinner on a monday like I did!
Henry hasn't gone on any trips yet.
