Off grid yet wonderful stay!
Kevin and Shaun were amazing hosts. Their simple yet wonderful site offers a true feeling of being off grid. We arose to a herd of elk who wander over Kevins site every day, which was a delight. Kevin offers fresh water, electricity and a place to dump grey water. No toilet/shower. Very much recommend To stay with Kevin, he really took care of us!

First time using hip camp & we had an excellent experience. The hosts are wonderful people & provided us with information on things to do in the area & restaurants to eat at. The views are spectacular. We have a big rig & we backed in all the way up the driveway, thus having an easy pull out when we left. We saw elk in the morning & evening. We look forward to staying again when we come back to this area 5 stars, thanks again.

Camping at Kevin’s
Kevin & his campsite were amazing!! The view of the mountains were beautiful, and there was enough space so you didn’t feel crowded. Kevin was super helpful, generous, and kind! We will definitely be back in the future.
Also, he has the best dog that’ll keep you company!

A great spot w an even better host!
We had an amazing stay here! The property and the host were more than we could have asked for. We stayed here so we could visit the White Sands National Park and it was an easy 45 minute drive. We even got to see elk right outside our RV door in the morning. Thanks, again for all your hospitality!

Kevin is so gracious and an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate host. It felt like a gift he shared welcoming us to stay on his land. We only stayed one night but would’ve liked to stay longer and chat with him more.

Peaceful, beautiful, accommodating.
One of the best places we have stayed! Kevin and his girlfriend were so accommodating and giving! Anything you need, if he has it, he will share it with you. One of the best hosts! Property is beautiful and peaceful. Many stars at night and the sounds of the elks. Just a great place to stay. We will definitely be back. The property can be a bit difficult to find, make sure you call him to find it.

Scenic and welcoming spot
I had a great time here! Kevin is incredibly friendly and welcoming and meeting him was one of the highlights of my cross country drive. The site has a great view and a friendly cat and dog running around. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.
Just be aware if you're driving from Cloudcroft or nearby, Google Maps will lead you through a long dirt road (Indian Service Route 10) . When I went it had just rained and it was a little slippery for my comfort even with 4wd. It's a beautiful drive and there are wild horses on the road but I would make sure to go the longer way if it's recently rained or if you're not confident in your vehicle.

Think twice!
Kevin’s directions said, “call from the post office and I will meet you there.” So, when we got to the post office, we called the number he gave and it was a restricted number so it wouldn’t ring through. I sent him a message thru the app, emailed him & texted the number we couldn’t get thru when we called. No response in 45 min. We left and went to the White Sands to give him a bit more time to get back with us. We had no place to camp so we drove home & got back @ 2:45am. I finally heard from Kevin the following day, mid-afternoon. He apologized for not having a phone in working order. He said he was not expecting us, even though he had accepted our request. He said he was new to Hipcamp and wasn’t quite sure how it worked, even though I selected his property because he had great reviews.

Spirit of the Mescalero Apache!
We had an incredible stay! We feel like Kevin is now a very good friend of ours after meeting for the first time. The place is very close to many attractions such as White Sands National Park and Inn of the Mountain Gods. If you are the roughing it type, this is perfect. You will feel the true spirit of the Mescalero Apache while staying here. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful soul & stay!
Kevin is one incredible soul! Very accommodating, beautiful property, secluded, fresh mountain air, refreshing spring water to drink or use for your cooking and hygiene needs, a hiking trail right on the place, good location next to Ruidoso, Inn of the Mountain Gods and the quaint little treasures right there on the Reservation. I’ll definitely be visiting again as soon as I can! My dog and me had a blast :)

Make a friend in Mescalero, NM
Kevin and his property were just what we needed to unwind and recoup after a few weary weeks on the road. He made us instantly feel at home. We truly enjoyed getting to know him and learning about Apache life on the Mescalero Reservation. With the great view, cool temps, a fire pit & elk roaming the yard each morning, along with a fresh pot of coffee provided by Kevin, this place is a must stop if you need a break from reality. He even provided us an extension cord from his house to power our necessities & a hose to fill our RV's tank.

Basic camping: great host, beautifu
Nice place. Kevin is very friendly and accommodating: will give you electricity when needed: no shower: potable water available: no flushing toilet unless Kevin let you use the bathroom in his house . On arrival he gave me bottled water and some trail mix; every morning he offered fresh brewed coffee. I am motorcycle camping: spent 2 nights - the area is great for motorcycle riding. Close to Kevin's site there are not many restaurants; the one I went to the lady server was nice but the food so so. However in RUIDOSO (only 15 miles or so) a bunch of nice coffee places and good restaurants. I will come back to Kevin's place when in the area.

Kevin was an amazing host. We didn’t get in till late and he was so friendly and patient. In the morning he came down to visit with us as we packed up then offered us hot coffee for the road. As we drove away my hubby said “the world needs more Kevin’s”

Spot was great! Super close to white sands. Kevin (Tido) is extremely gracious. He offered fire wood, a fire pit, coffee in the AM with bfast, showed us around, and educated us on Native American history. Grateful he welcomed his home to us! He was kind, social, and gave us privacy as well! The perfect balance. Looking forward to returning :)
